I had obstetric cholestasis in my last pregnancy. Started itching around 32 weeks had a blood test and confirmed oc. Im currently 9 weeks pregnant and wondering if others who had in more than one pregnancy. Ive started getting itchy at night, not as intense has previous pregnancy. Can oc even start this early?

I’ve read it’s very likely to get it in subsequent pregnancies. I’m on pregnancy 1 and have been diagnosed at week 35. Itching started at week 23ish but results came back negative, however I’ve read it can often take a few tests to show up properly, so definitely keep at them to test you again if first test was to come back negative.

Were you induced first time round and if so roughly which week of pregnancy?

Hi OP, congrats on your pregnancy! I had OC in my last pregnancy starting at 24 weeks and was told I had a 90% chance off getting out again this time. I'm now nearly 37 weeks and so far I'm clear 😊 the only thing I would say though is my last pregnancy was twins so that might have something to do with it! It would be extremely rare for OC to start at 9 weeks. I have had little bouts of itching this time which have made me think it's starting again but they all been short lived so normal hormonal itching I guess.

@hkp288 I was induced at 38 weeks. I had twice weekly hospital appointments for bloods, scans and baby's movement monitored from 32 weeks up until birth, i was on tablets but the levels where not coming down so I was booked in to be induced. Thank you @SamoyedFan123 Im thinking it's just normal pregnancy related itching but I just never know. Thank you both for replying Smile
