Bump dropped?

Hello looking for some advice!
The last week or so my bump looks like it’s dropped, a few people have said it has and I’m only 28 weeks, 29 tomorrow. My bump was a lot higher like underneath my boobs but now it’s a bit lower, I’m over weight so I still now don’t like like I have much of a bump especially lower down as it’s fat. This is my first baby so I don’t know what’s normal or not? I feel the movements still all over but mostly further down, she’s measuring on the smaller side so she has plenty of room to still move around so why would have my bump dropped? It doesn’t mean labour does it? 😩 I am getting braxton hicks, the top of my bump goes tight for a couple of seconds and it’ll do it a couple of times then stop, just a bit worried more than anything, I did speak to my midwife told me it’s nothing to worry about and basically hung up 😂 she didn’t tell me why it happens or anything so just wondering if this is normal?

It doesnt mean you’ll go into labour no.

It’s just the position, it will probably look higher and lower over the next few months, unless you’re having regular contractions then you are definitely not in labour at 29 weeks Grin

Baby has probably just changed position, most likely from head up if you had a big high hard bump to head down. Don't worry it doesn't really mean much, it's what's supposed to happen Smile

Thanks guys! I don’t think I’m having contractions 😂 I do have a pain at the bottom of my bump a lot but been told it’s just round ligament pain!
Ahh thank you at least I know it’s a normal thing and I shouldn’t worry about it! Yeah she was really high up first of all like under my boobs and now shes down lower but not drastically just noticeable!

Yes, just baby changing position. My bump has also been mostly high (literally touching my boobs, just so high up) but I'm now 27 weeks and over the last week it seems to change every few days (I love the days when its lower, so much more comfortable !). Today it's back super high again.

Don't worry at all. I also had a lot of Braxton Hicks for a week or 2 and posted here for reassurance, that has now pretty much settled.

Hope it puts your mind at ease a bit

Thank you! Ahh mines gone lower and seems to have stayed like that now for about 2 weeks or so now! Concerned mine doesn’t seem to change back to higher up just staying where it is at the moment! She’s measuring small at 2.2 at 28 weeks so I don’t know, thought maybe my bump would have moved like it’s been 2 weeks now being low! And the braxton hicks have been every day now too for ages now too!
