False and Negative Tests - Pregnancy Unknown Location - Miscarriage - Ectopic?

Hiya, I am looking for similar experiences and their outcomes or any advice etc.

My LMP was 26.04.21, I had some spotting before my May period was due & developed lots of pregnancy symptoms including nausea, backache, headache, even a linea nigra on the stomach.
I tested and it kept coming back as negative.. Had a blood test on 10.06.21, got 3 positives on 3 different urine tests on 11.06.21, received blood test results on 12.06.21 which came back as negative!
I booked a private scan for 14.06.21 as I wanted some clarification, going from LMP i would have been around 7 weeks. I was told I had a PUL - Pregnancy Unknown Location. They couldn’t see a sac, there was a Corpus Leteum on the right ovary which the sonographer said was pregnancy related but she could not see my left ovary as it was ‘hiding’.
I was told to do another urine test the following morning 15.06.21 which came back negative!?
I have been suffering with cramps and backache for several weeks and have started spotting/bleeding today. Which has consisted of brown, pink and red blood and at times (sorry for TMI) was stringy. I have at times felt dizzy and continue to get cramps and backache.
I have been asked to go in for blood tests tomorrow but i’m concerned that if it comes back as negative they will not investigate it further?
Has anyone had any similar experiences with either symptoms, negative and positive tests and what was the outcome?

Hi lovely. Sorry that this is happening to you, I'm currently going through the exact same thing and could have written this myself. This could be a long post so apologies in advance.
I had a positive pregnancy test on 27th May, my lines progressed nicely but about a week later they started getting a bit faint (only kept testing as I'd had a MC on 1st May) and a few days later I started to get some strong cramps. I called EPAU and they booked me in for a scan the following week but the next day I had some spotting so I was asked to go in.
They gave me a transvaginal scan and said they couldn't see anything but my pregnancy test was faint and my hcg level was 141. I had bloods taken 2 says later and it was 147, and again 2 days later and they were 145. So I was asked to come back in. I had another internal scan and I have a 2cm corpus luteum cyst on my right ovary just like you and that's what's been giving me the pain. They said this should go away when the pregnancy if over. They advised me I could have keyhole but sometimes the tissue is so small they can't see it when they go in, or an injection callrd methotrexate which is a chemotherapy drug which kills cells, and that this would be most effective in my situation as there is a pregnancy there but it could be in a tube or trapped in a blood vessel so they can't leave it in case it ruptures.
Yesterday I got my injection but started bleeding lightly from early morning so think things were progressing naturally. Since then my ovary pain isn't as bad and I'm bleeding heavily now. No real side affects to the drug yet other than a sore head and if I stand up longer than 5 mins I get really shaky and weak so I'm resting. I go back on Friday for bloods and again 3 days later. When my hormone level is low they'll discharge me. I can't try for a baby for 3 months because of the methotrexate. I hope this is helpful to you, sorry that it's not better news 😔🌸

Sorry to read that you are going through this.

Have they confirmed that you have had an ectopic pregnancy? could they see anything on your ultrasound?

I have been left in the dark, I have not been told anything. I would just like to know if i am miscarrying or if it is an ectopic and they have missed it due to not being able to find or see it. I worry that they will not further investigate it if my test tomorrow comes back as negative..

They've just said that it's a PUL (Pregnancy of Unknown Location) and no they can't see anything on the scan. They've done my bloods every 2 days for 6 days because of this so they know there is a pregnancy somewhere but because my levels are stagnant it indicates eptopic and that's why I've had the injection. Maybe today they'll offer bloods to check your hcg or you could even request them so that you're satisfied

Sorry I've just seen you're getting your bloods done. If your hcg levels are under 10 they'll say not pregnant, that's what I was told. If you have a significant hormone level there they'll tell you to come back in 48hrs for repeat bloods. If they drop it means miscarriage and if they stay the same you'll probably be asked to repeat them and then they can determine PUL/eptopic

Oh okay, that makes sense why you had the injection!

I am due to have bloods done today but my concern is that my last blood test came
back as a negative but i tested positive on urine tests the next day.

It's all very confusing and draining but hopefully i'll get some answers. xx
