When to expect period after miscarriage?

Hello ladies, it's now been 4 weeks since my miscarriage bleeding started. I bled for 2 weeks in total. I've heard you're period is usually 4-6 weeks after a miscarriage so I'm just wondering when everyone else who's been through a heartbreaking miscarriage got theirs? I was hoping and praying to get pregnant straight after the miscarriage. We started having unprotected sex right after the pregnancy tests turned negative. I have been tracking ovulation every day since I stopped bleeding but have just had faint lines on the ovulation test every single day, so I don't think I have ovulated 😞 also I'm having period like cramps and a super bloated belly so guess it's just a waiting game xx

Hi OP sorry for your loss Thanks I got my period 4 weeks after the bleeding stopped. I got my BFP 9 months after my mc but I wasn't tracking. Hope you get your rainbow baby soon x

So sorry for your loss.

I've had 5 miscarriages but 4 were mmc I needed intervention for so slightly different. With my first, that was a natural, complete miscarriage, I bled for a week, ovulated a week later (the only time I've been certain of ov in my life!) and a month on from when my bleeding started got a new bfp. He's 11 now! So it is definitely possible to conceive without a period first!

With my others I had to have medical / surgical management so always tried to avoid getting pg again until after my first period, which, like you say, has always been about 4-6 weeks later.

Hth and good luck!

Sorry for your loss :-(

It's different for everyone re. periods coming back. I bled for 6 weeks during my MC (yep, even with 2 rounds of pills - the "pregnancy tissue" just wouldn't budge). Once I stopped bleeding from the MC and finally got a negative pregnancy test, I believe my period came about 10-14 days later. However my periods were slightly different to how they were before the MC - the bleed lasted for about 8 days rather than my usual 3 days. I got pregnant again after 3 cycles.

If you are using ovulation sticks I would really recommend forking out and getting the Clear Blue ones - which gives you a solid smiley when your LH surge occurs. I used Sainsbury ovulation sticks for months and never got a positive, even though my periods were regular so I knew I was ovulating, then I used the CB ones and got a solid smiley the first month of using it and got pregnant. I also did a Sainsbury ov test that same day as the CB one and it didn't show as positive... so I do think CB are the best and worth the money!

Sorry for your loss. I've just started my first period after a miscarriage. I bled for about 10 days, then started digital ovulation tests and got flashing smileys for ages until I finally ovulated on day 28. Got my period exactly 6 weeks after miscarriage. It's different for everyone. Best of luck.
