Anyone had polyhydramnios?

I’m 24 weeks and having regular scans and weekly BP checks due to low papp-a and urertine artery resistance which can both lead to low birth weight, pre-eclampsia etc. I am also rhesus negative and waiting to get blood tests back to find out what the baby is.

At my 24 week scan yesterday they found I have polyhydramnios and they mentioned the possibility of gestational diabetes, but baby isn’t big and is about the 50th percentile for most measurements. I’m seeing my consultant this afternoon, but wondered if anyone else has had this!

I do feel like my bump is big and heavy already and the sonographer said it’s probably due to all the extra fluid.

Yes I had this with my first DC. You'll get a big giant bump and you'll lose a couple of stone after the birth lol. Only thing is it can make it hard for baby to get engaged in the right position for birth and they might need an x Ray when they're born to check their swallow.

Thanks for your reply @JewelGarden. Did you have any other complications? I shouldn’t have googled - it sounds quite scary!

Sonographer said they would probably do a GD test, did you have one?

Don't worry about it too much.

Yes, had it with 2 singletons and milder with one of our twins. It didn't cause any problems during pregnancy or at birth, no GD had tests with all of them and this one (not our 1st though). Was like a waterfall when waters went with my vb's. Mine was just put down to having larger babies, all noticed 28wk onwards. I have a growth scan for this one next week so will see if she's also big and/or has high fluid, bump is very big at 31wk. I keep getting "are you sure there's only one?", I was much bigger with the twins!!
