Just wondering where you all felt movement at 20 weeks? I seem to always feel the baby below my belly button. Never anywhere else 🤔 Is this normal?

Yes, your uterus is only up to your belly button at 20 weeks so this is perfectly normal. Bump higher up than that isnt baby, it's everything else that has been pushed up and out of the way by your growing womb. Do a google image search for uterus position by weeks. And congrats :)

Thanks @Kimblebee19 I had my 20 week scan on Monday and have reduced fluid so I am just worrying about if the baby can move enough because i feel the movements where their hands would be and never wgere their feet are. I have another scan tomorrow with a specialist dr to see what the problem is and what they will do to monitor me ect. Worried so havent been nesr google because there are bound to be horror stories on there arent there. Xx

Oh I misunderstood sorry - so you're worried that the movements you're feeling are more central on your tummy rather than spread out on the left and right sides? Hmm I'm 17 weeks so movements pretty sporadic atm, but I think they are generally fairly central a lot of the time. Baby can get into all sorts of weird and wonderful positions at this point, may be sitting at a funny angle and curled right up so feet/head/bum is what you are actually feeling or even be sitting up (as my DC#1 was for 12 week scan!). Sorry to hear of the issues you're having, I can imagine the worry - have you had fluid loss? I did read that fluid actually replenishes itself really quickly, fingers crossed for you and good luck with your scan tomorrow - maybe ask them there about where you are feeling movements?

ALC21 · 16/06/2021 11:54

@kimblebee19 thanks. I am hoping that it can replenish. I have been drinking a lot and hope that the scan tomorrow gives us some answers. I will ask about the movements. Hopefully, its normal to only feel movement centrally. They have checked and my waters havent gone so hopefully when I go tomorrow there is more fluid or an answer to why there isnt much. X

I'll be thinking of you. Are you on a November Due Date thread? Lots of lovely ladies on here: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/pregnancy/4266505-November-2021-thread-3-hello-second-trimester?pg=2

stormy11 · 16/06/2021 13:03

Do you know which way the baby is lying? That could be why you aren't feeling it all over.

ALC21 · 16/06/2021 13:41

@stormy11 I think so. I can feel what i think is their hands doing little punches but not their feet. I am just basing this on what i saw on the screen while they were scanning me. X

This was normal for me at 20 weeks, low down under my belly button. Now I'm 24 weeks and feel him all the time above the belly button and on both sides.

ALC21 · 16/06/2021 16:04

@Kimblebee19 so sorry. Ive just realised i didnt reply to you. Thank you. I am just trying to keep busy today to make tomorrow come faster lol. I'm not on that thread but I will take a look, thank you. X

I started feeling kicks above my belly button at about 22 weeks, before this was all quite low Smile

ALC21 · 16/06/2021 18:12

Thanks @Thefaceofboe I am wondering if they were just in the 1 same spot or at different points but below the belly button. I havent written it clearly enough i dont think. I always feel movement in 1 spot and its always been that 1 spot since it started. X

I'm 23 weeks and only feel him kick above my pant line and nowhere else, I do have an anterior placenta so think this blocks movement around the belly x

Kimblebee19 · 17/06/2021 18:47

How did you get on today, @ALC21?

ALC21 · 17/06/2021 18:49

They cancelled my appointment 😭 they tried to re book me in for next Thursday but I rang my midwife and she got me an appointment for tomorrow. Thanks for asking. X

Kimblebee19 · 17/06/2021 18:56

Noooo how incredibly frustrating for you. Thank goodness for your midwife. At least another day on they might be able to tell more about your waters. Been paying attention to baby's kicks for you - currently wriggling away and all feels low but very central.

ALC21 · 18/06/2021 06:36

@Kimblebee19 thanks 😊 I am going to ask them today as well
