Labor!!

Hi Everyone,
I’m 40+3 weeks pregnant and fed up! Bit TMI but had a lot of discharge the past couple of days (could be the start of the mucous plug) and today had some period like pain, I think it might be braxton hicks which I’ve been having throughout my whole pregnancy but they’re now painful whereas they weren’t before!
Could this be the start of labor? I’m getting so excited, it’s probably wishful thinking haha. I’ve got a sweep booked for Thursday so hoping that gets things properly started! What were your experiences? Or is anyone similar stage to me? How are you all getting on xxx

Sorry to tease, both of my babies were well overdue (14 days and 13 days) so I remember the “is this it” feelings well.

Both of mine started with mild irregular contractions at 40+12, my waters didn’t break until pushing either time and no obvious plugs either.

With my dd1 my waters broke then 3 hours later had sharp period pains only, that came and went ever few minutes until I was 3-4cm dilated. I remember being surprised because I always thought the pain would be around my stomach. With dd2 I was having period pains on and off for weeks, when I was induced at 37 weeks was told my cervix was very thin.

I’ve been contractions from 4am, went in to get checked cause they were only 4 minutes apart and I was only 2CM dilated so they’ve sent me home, I’m now still having them between 4 and 9 minutes apart! (So painful) I’m hoping my waters go tonight or if not I’ve got a sweep booked for tomorrow!xx
