Aptamil Comfort

Hi! My LO is 6 months old and has been on aptamil comfort since he was about 6 weeks old. He had a lot of gas and trapped wind from Aptamil regular formula and the comfort milk was less frothy so worked for us. He's still having comfort formula and it says it's suitable up to 12 months. We are thinking, because we have started weaning him, that he may as well go back on to normal formula now but we are reluctant to do it as he's so settled and enjoys the taste of his formula etc. Would it be bad to keep him on comfort milk until he goes to cows milk when he's 1? I know it's reduced lactose but there still is some lactose in it. I worry that he will go back to being windy and in pain and he's just so settled, my OH says if it's working why change but I just didn't k is if it wasn't recommended to stay on that formula and we should be going back to regular formula? Thanks!

We kept our son on it until he was weaned onto cow’s milk. There’s no reason not to. What are you concerned about?

No reason to change because it is nutritionally complete, just like the normal formula. My ds has just come off it onto to cows milk at 13 months and it's perfectly fine :)

I would just wait until ready for cows milk

Thank you! That's really helpful.

@FartnissEverbeans I was just concerned that it was a formula for special dietary requirements so shouldn't be used for an entire year. Good to know it's fine.
