NHS Screening results back

I had my week 12 scan and all went well. I also had the screening blood tests the NHS offers to test for Downs Syndrome, Edwards and Pautaus syndrome. I had a call today from the clinic saying I have a 1 in 10 chance of the baby having Downs. They said it was based on my serum hCG being at 2.9 when they prefer it to be closer to 1. I haven't told them it was a donor egg. Could this 1 in 10 chance be calculated based on the fact that it was a donor egg?
I don’t want to risk amniocentesis, and as I understand NIPT will be useless unless I tell them it’s a donor. Would the Harmony test help here? Has anyone had similar results?

Why haven't you told them it's donor egg?

Why don't you want to disclose the fact it's a donor egg? They will be able to tell you the best tests to take next if you explain about it.

I don’t want it on my record. I won’t be disclosing it to anyone as it’s not very accepted in my culture.

The entire test is meaningless if you haven’t been honest about the age at production of the eggs. I was 39 when I was pregnant but using eggs I produced when I was younger so they based all the tests they could on that.

Purchase a private nipt test then and be honest with them. It won’t appear on your medical history unless you choose to share it.

The harmony test IS a nipt test. It’s just one of the brand names it goes under.

I had a NIPT test done, and as it was with a private company it doesn’t appear on my GP medical records.

No one in your family will know and the HCPs won't judge you.

Thank you. I ended up calling ARC (Antenatal Results and Choices, 0207 713 7486). Such an amazing service. They advised I get my results from my midwife and call the Wolfson Centre to see what the results would have been had I have told them the info about the donor. I went from 1 in 10, to 1 in 190. A huge jump.
