Incompetent (weak) cervix

Hey mums and future mums, i hope you can help me with my concern.
I had a dr appointment at 14 weeks and my cervix was 6cm.
At 21 weeks it was at 4,3 and the dr really made me worried and told me it's not ok and that i could have lost the baby. Confused
The second day i went to another dr and he told me my cervix is fine and it's normal to shrink. I am now 23 weeks pregnant and i have tomorrow another appointment to a clinic where i was sent by my first doc with the assumption of weak cervix. He also told me not to have any contact with my hubby and to not do any physical activity. Everywhere on the internet (+the opinion of the 2nd doc) is written that 4,3 is actually a normal length for 2nd trimester.

Is my doc an idiot or should i really be concerned? (and yes i actually stopped doing any physical activity and had absolutely no contact with my husband)

Hi hun I have incompetent cervix my length was 2.6cm at 10 weeks so very short for gestation. so when they measure ur cervix they only start to worry when it's less than 2.5cm. A length of 4cm is very good and a normal length.
Was ur length def in cm not mm ? Was the scan internal.
It doesn't hurt to have pelvic rest until ur rescanned
They will also only offer a cervical stitch up untill 24 weeks as higher risk of breaking ur waters when they do the stitch after that and they say baby is variable at that gestation.
Great fb group call incompetent cervix uk - pregnancy related.
I'm happy to answer any questions you have x

4.3cm is a very good length! Mine was 2.8 at 20 weeks, the cutoff for treatment is when it goes under 2.5cm. Because I was so close to that I was started on progesterone pessaries, which I stopped at 32 weeks and am now 33+1. 4.3cm is absolutely fine and actually above the average of 4cm!

Thanks so much! I really feel more relieved.
It was internal, yes and def cm as it is written by the doc himself.
I still can wrap my head around him saying that if i wouldn't have taken the magnesium i would have lost her.. He also gave me progesterone.
I will wait and see what the scan tomorrow says but i am kinda glad i changed doc.

But yes, the other doc i saw also said exactly the same that if it's below 2.5 then i should worry!
