Midwife appointments

I have my second appointment with my community midwife at 18wk6days but then got another letter for an appointment two weeks after with the antenatal clinic at the hospital. Is there a difference between the two appointments? I just think it’s strange to have them so close together.

Is that not for a scan?

NS1988 · 14/06/2021 10:56

No got the scan in between the two appointments.

I booked my 20 week scan at the hosp after my 12w scan, is this what you done? If not I would say it’s for a scan.
Unless it’s with a consultant but it would state that.

Yeah I had mine booked at the 12 week scan too. So that’s the week before and then randomly got this letter through, doesn’t state it’s with a consultant though

I had a letter to go in between 12w and 20w and it turned out to be because it was an IVF pregnancy.

Can always give them a call to find out.

Are you high risk/consultant care? Could it be an obstetrics appointment

justchecking1 · 14/06/2021 11:45

The timing is right for a consultant appointment but not sure if there's a reason you'd be consultant led care? BMI? Age? Previous CSection?

NS1988 · 14/06/2021 11:58

No not high risk, first baby and im 33 and no issue with bmi. I will ask community midwife tomorrow when I have my appointment with her and if she doesn’t know I’ll call them to find out.
