Hello ladies I wondered if you could help me ? I am 6 days late and decides to do a test on Friday which was 4 days late and got a negative test. Today I did a test first wee of the day looked after 60 seconds it said negative. Exactly two hours later I went to put the test in the bin and looked and the test has a positive cross on it.
This test was a clear blue test rapid test.
I was immediately over joyed and broke the news to my other half who said don’t we need to double check so off we went I have since done 4 tests throughout the day all negative :-( !!
Does anyone have an idea if I could be pregnant? I’m out of my mind !

I would say you're definitely pregnant- that's quite a strong line. Were the other tests you took the same type/ CB too? Get some First Response Early Response tests and do one with your first wee tomorrow.

If it was 2 hours later I would not go by that result then.

Curiosity101 · 13/06/2021 19:38

I wouldn't trust that test as it was read 2 hours late and the 'positive' vertical line is really thin, not the same thickness as the horizontal line which is what it should be if it's positive.

However I do agree with a PP, I would 100% get one or two First Response Early Response tests. Make sure you take it with first-morning wee so you can be confident of the result.

Good luck.

Kindly, as I know how hard TTC is, that is an evap line and not a positive. You can tell as the line is too far to the left and too thin to be a positive Thanks

Tracecap · 13/06/2021 19:51

Thank you I think I know deep down too. Feel so stupid to have celebrated 😔

I should also add that it is common for evap lines to appear after the timeframe of reading the result. Voice of experience- this happened to me during a failed IVF cycle.

Try pink dye tests. Blue dye tests are notorious for evap lines, not worth the nerves.

Just done another one just in case fifth of the day so negative ! I’ve been TTS for 6 years I am 40 with low ovarian reserve so would have been a Miracle ! At least I can draw a line under it now thanks ladies x

It's an easy mistake to make, go easy on yourself.

Tracecap · 14/06/2021 09:51

Thank you so much ❤️

Agree with the PP, please be kind to yourself. It's not silly to have had hope given it's something you obviously want and are trying for!

Wishing you every luck going forward 🤞

I can only guess but if I had to guess I'd probably assume you're either experiencing an anovulatory cycle or that you ovulated later than usual and therefore AF will be late as a result.

Do you track ovulation at all? I know you mentioned in your initial post that you were 6 days late but I wasn't sure if that was an estimate or if you'd tracked ovulation and know the length of your luteal phase?
