Acid reflux 35 weeks

Hi, so I've had acid reflux for a while now but it has started to get increasingly worse over the last week or so. Has anyone any ideas what to use to help? Gaviscon and things for heartburn don't seem to help at all, it's worse on a night time so I try not to eat before bed.
Also, last night I had really a really bad pain below my boobs, really uncomfortable!! Does anyone know if this is related??

Don’t know but I feel your pain ☹️ I haven’t taken anything for it yet but I was lying awake for hours last night because my throat was burning so much I couldn’t sleep. Eventually gave in and went down to the kitchen for a huge glass of milk, it’s the only thing that seems to help. My baby seems to move position a lot and he seems to be really high up just now, I think that’s putting extra pressure on stuff inside because I’m losing interest in food just thinking of all the burning hassle that comes after eating 🙈

I suffer from it when not pregnant but when I was pregnant it was so much worse. The doctor could prescribe you omeprazole. I had mine upped during my last trimester and it really helped.

Hope you're alright.. I know how you feel. Some days I'd dread going to bed cause I knew it would keep me up xx

The pain location you're describing sounds exactly like stomach acid pain. I get this regularly even when not pregnant and it gets worse in pregnancy. I have a repeat prescription of omeprazole - I'd speak to your GP, they can prescribe you something like that to help. I also find eating yoghurt helps and avoiding/limiting triggers which for me are spicy food and pickled food.

Yes the burning feeling in throat is AWFUL! I feel as though there is constantly something stuck. Milk doesn't seem to help for me though either, yeah I keep getting kicked in the ribs so I think position of baby doesn't help. Thanks guys, I will give the docs a ring tomorrow and see if there is anything else they can give me for it! I dread bedtime too! I just have to try and sleep sitting up to help but then I always end up lying down in my sleep and waking up feeling worse!
Thankyou- I've heard omeprazole is supposed to be good x

I've been really suffering with this and it's been waking me in the night (30 weeks). I read the anti acid diet and cut out spicy food, coffee, chocolate, fizzy drinks, tomatoes and lemons, all my favorite food basically, and not eating after 7:30pm. And it's worked, but it a life barely worth living. Planning to wet the baby's head with a curry and can of coke

Yeah it wakes me all the time in the night, Id never had it before pregnancy!! I've had heartburn but it's so different. Oh so basically cut out everything hahaha, I will try and be more careful with the foods that I eat thankyou. Ahhh I can't wait for a big greasy pizza after this too 😂🙈

I'm 38 weeks now and have suffered all the way through. Like you it's ramped up the last few weeks and rennies/gaviscon stopped working. I could also feel pain everytime I swallowed food and drink. I was prescribed omeprazole on Friday and its amazing! No heartburn at all the last 24 hours, it's a game changer!

AntiStars · 13/06/2021 17:20

Agree. Am 35 weeks. Suffered with disturbed sleep and rib pain for 5 weeks. Took 1 x Omeprazole y’day, complete game changer.

RachShad · 13/06/2021 17:26

Oh my god, well looks like I need this in my life!!!! Il definitely ring tomorrow
