Just a quick query. I am pregnant after 6 months of trying and we are thrilled to bits, but now when should I go to my GP to confirm??

Hi Cyndii, congratulations. It took us about the same to fall preg with DD2. 2nd time around I actually had a phone consultation with the doc at around 8 weeks I think.

Thank you mummytummy!

Ooooh - congratulations! Am currently 23 weeks pregnant with no 2 - it's very exciting isn't it.

The only thing that got me down to the GPs this time was the knowledge that we were going away on holiday for 2 weeks at the crucial time for doing the nuchal fold test and the 12 week scan.

To my surprise they didn't want to do a pregnancy test themselves - not once I told them I'd done one at home. And in the end I had a phone conversation with the midwife who booked me in for the scan. Didn't actually see the midwife till about 14 weeks, once I'd had the scan already.

Congratulations !

Go early enough to get booked into the scans etc so think I went at around 8 weeks.

Cyndii - Congrats sweetie, I am prego with no.2 and am 34 wks, I just phoned my doc when I did a preg test myself, and just went along for an informal appointment where she entered everything on the PC, and then the hospital gets that info and knows when to book you for your scan etc.

Congratulations Cyndii!
I'm pregnant (12 weeks) with my first - I went to the GP at 5 weeks as I wanted some advice aswell as to get booked in. I saw my midwife at 9 weeks which is usual around here, and I've got my first scan next week.
