Hey ladies - so I’m 39 weeks and FTM. Sorry if this is TMI but keen to seek some advice if other mums who’ve given birth before!!!

Had some period pain type cramps and back ache for around 3 hours constantly yesterday evening but now gone (had that for a few weeks now on and off anyway but never for so long more like 1 min tops). However - my crotch and lady bits now feel, what I can only describe as if they’ve been punched and are bruised… at front and in between my legs - I feel it whenever I try to get up or move… appreciate it’s different for everyone but does this sound familiar to anyone else? Again had for a few weeks but felt much stronger last night and now.

Baby still wriggling around as usual. No sign of a bloody show or waters breaking but been very dischargey for last few weeks.

I’m thinking it’s my body getting ready but have nothing to compare it to!

Yeah that sounds promising!

Mine started as dull constant period pain, then developed into separate contractions. Think I felt PMSy the couple of days before as well.

Early labour also often ramps up at night and calms down in the day. So sounds like you're getting into gear?

It could be that baby has moved further down and is resting on your pelvis, I had this around 39 weeks and my midwife said baby was 3/5 engaged or something. I went into labour at 39+4 and that started as just irregular period pains for 2 days which then became more regular until I gave birth. I didn't lose my plug or waters until moments before baby came out! Hopefully things progress for you soon xx
