2nd degree tear and Episiotomy

During my induction/labor I had a 2nd degree tear and Episiotomy I was wondering in any one else had this ? How long did it take to heal ? I am 4 weeks pp and still felling pressure and uncomfortable at times ? Looking for anyone with similar experience x

I had a 3rd degree tear and episiotomy 17 weeks ago now. I would say that it took 11/12 weeks to feel recovered, I am sorry to say that! I hope it's not as long for you but know that it does get better with time and rest!! 😀

I had both 12 years ago....all totally healed now of course.

They let me have a c-section with my 2nd baby , 2 years later. They said that there would be a high risk I would tear again and would be irreparable.

I had an episiotomy and I’d say after 2 weeks I had no pain or discomfort.
Worth speaking to your MW and asking her to check to make sure everything’s as it should be

3rd degree and episiotomy took 6weeks to heal to 'ok' then another 6 ish till I could ignore it

Had exactly the same with first labour, I'd say 4-6 weeks before I started 'forgetting' about it if you see what I mean so you might hopefully start feeling more healed soon!
Interested to read about the risk of tearing in second labour, nobody has had that conversation with me yet 😬

Honestly it was 6 months. Sex was impossible as it was too painful. Had to see a specialist in the end and it turns out it had over healed. A lot of perineal massage has fixed it and I'm recovered now.... if not they can do collegan injection or a procedure called a fentons where they cut it and try again except in a calmer environment than birth so more likely to heal properly. 4 weeks is nothing tho (although can appreciate it feels it if you're in pain)!, you've been through a significant, maybe traumatic event, be patient with your body, you'll get there! X

Thanks everyone I also lost a lot of blood to so I know my body has a fair bit of work to do ! The last time the MW looked she said look like it was healing well but still a bit of bruising that was about 2 weeks ago
@Monkeytapper interesting the went back and forward between a section and induction early with my wee one as she was getting to big did you find the recovery better or worse with the section ? xx

@Viclinz28…recovery was fine with a csection. Considering I had a newborn and a 2 year old to look after and by DH only had a week off work so I just had to ‘get on with it’ as such.

With both birthday I was given loads of pain killers for after so never really experienced lots of pain afterwards.

Planned section was less stressful obviously as I knew what was going to happen, with the first birth it was definitely more scary as DS got stuck so that when they cut me and the tore on the cut so I was relieved when they said I could have a planned section if I ever had another baby.
