Wedding advice

I’ve been invited to a wedding where if all goes to plan with due date my baby would be just under 6 weeks old. It’s adults only and as a first time mum I have no idea whether I can leave baby at the age so would welcome any advice! I guess it also depends on whether I’ve had a complicated birth/section and if I’m up to it. I plan to breastfeed all being well so if I did leave baby with relatives (maybe just for a couple of hours rather than all day) would I be able to express milk for them to give baby..? Or is expressing not a given even if I can breastfeed? Again, clueless as a FTM! TIA

Most couples would make an exception to a child free wedding for such a small baby. Have you spoken to the person who is getting married?

Thanks @PurpleDaisies I’d not considered that. I’ve not yet spoken with them but will do to explain my quandary so will see what they say.

As pp couples normally allow such young babies.
If not, yes you can express I would just make sure they take it from a bottle before the wedding.

You may find when little one is here you don't feel comfortable leaving for so long, especially as they will be so young.
I'd either bring baby or not go.

6 weeks is very soon. You have no idea how you’ll be feeling. Some women bounce back and others take longer.

You can express but you’ll probably need to pump while you’re at the wedding. Is it in a hotel? Could you get someone to watch the baby there? Or have a room so you can pump and put your feet up for a while?

Could you ask you say yes for now but leave it much nearer the time to decide? It’s really hard to know how you’ll feel x
