40+1 and grumpy

Had my first after a induction for pre eclampsia at 35+3. She was born vaginally after two pessaries and a quick 3 hour labour.

Naively thought I would have some signs by now.
MW attempted a sweep today. She couldn't reach my cervix. High and posterior so she couldn't tell if I'm dilated at all. She could feel babies head . 2/5 engaged. She said it doesn't mean a awful lot. It's just a snapshot of what my cervix is doing at the time and that it can be further back because of the babies head pushing on it.
Just feel a bit disheartened.
I've no plug lost or anything.

Booked for induction if she doesn't come at 40+10. I will be going ahead as not comfortable leaving it longer but the thought of 9 more days of this 😭😭.

I'm the same except 40+5. I have a sweep booked for Monday, when she looked earlier this week she couldn't really do much but touched the head! I'm absolutely on my knees looking after my toddler and I feel my nerves are starting to get to me with each day that passes. I felt prepared a few weeks back but now I'm just anxious playing the waiting game! So hard isn't it x

Totally understand how you feel, i went 40+12 with my DC2. Each day felt so frustrating! However as i was told it all goes away once baby is here - not that that helps how you are feeling now!
My advice is to not bother having anymore sweeps, I had 5 and they made no difference - each time being told everything looked favourable. My DC came when they were ready. I felt a bit violated by it all as the midwives really encouraged it but if I could go back in time i would not have bothered as it was so disheartening when nothing much happened after each one. I thought it would have helped as with DC1 I had a sweep and went into labour a few hours later.

Put your feet up, read a book, have a bath, relax as much as you can because it will be a long time before you get to properly rest again when baby is here. Even if you are majorly uncomfortable now! Wishing you luck and hope baby makes an arrival soon x
