Bloated like a balloon

Hi everyone,

I wanted to ask if anyone had any luck getting the bloating down.

I'm 6 weeks but I look like 5months pregnant. I get bloating from everything, meals, fruit, even water...

And burps! Oh my lord... The burps! All day long, but at least they are tasteless.

Tried eating smaller meals, drinking more water...nothing helps.

It's this weird mix of being bloated and hungry at the same time.

Please help if something worked for you.

Xo

Honestly, I don't think anything at that stage helped me. It was just solved with time....was better by about 10 weeks in my first pregnancy. I really hope you feel better soon, it is a horrible feeling.

Slowing of the digestive system causes a lot of the bloat. Try increasing fibre, things like fybogel can help (many supermarkets do their own version). It does resolve as your body adjusts but can take several weeks.

@stopchewingeverything it is!! I feel horrible and don't wanna do anything at all. Went for a walk yesterday and even that felt so unenjoyable as I felt heavy and awkward. I guess I need to wait it out.

@Chelyanne hey babe, thank you for a suggestion. I never heard of fybogel. Is that a supplement? And pregnancy safe? What do I ask for at the supermarket in cake they don't have fybogel. (I'm in Canada)

It's just a high fibre drink. It's a brand name, if you Google it you'll find something similar available where you are either in food shops or pharmacy.
Most are safe to use in pregnancy.

Thank you!! I'll look for something similar here @Chelyanne

Wheat was the devil for me when I was pregnant. Caused heartburn, bloating, gas etc.

KurtRussel · 19/06/2021 20:03

I'm 10 weeks and on here because I'm suffering, I miss that empty stomach feeling after a poo but it never comes.

I have found prune juice helps as a laxative and it's natural too, just go easy on it. I have 2 shots a day to try and keep me regular. My problem is I like a nice sandwich and crisps, pork pie etc on a Saturday for a treat and it wipes me out! I might try this eating little and often.

I work out 4 times a weeks and that doesn't help either so at 10 weeks I feel like I'm halfway and needing to but maternity clothes!

I hope it's right that it subsides but I've heard it can last the whole pregnancy!

I don't think I ever heard anyone complain of bloating and constipation when pregnant, I need to tell all my friends to prepare them lol!

Friendofcheese · 19/06/2021 20:08

Bloat is real here too. I am 13 weeks and look about 20 weeks most of the time except when I wake up. I just get bigger throughout the day. I’ve even had “are you sure there’s only one” comments from family. Also super constipated but need some further advice from midwife/GP about what is safe to take.

i am 6 week but bloated look like 3 month pregnant but i found in my scan it twins so doctor said bloated that much is because twins like may be double gas lolll

Nearly 12 weeks, I had to ask for omeprazole with bloating and acid reflux I was just miserable. It helped with the acid reflux snd tiny bit of the bloating but not enough. I really really hope it settles soon.
