Low Papp A?

Anyone else been told they have this? Got a letter from the hospital today saying I need to take aspirin and have extra growth scans. Trying not to fall in to a google spiral but I can already feel myself worrying 🙈

Hiya, congratulations on your pregnancy. Try not to worry although easier said than done. I also have low Papp-a and have met many women off here who do too. I was upset for a few days but there's nothing to worry about. You will get your monthly growth scans which is great, with a consultant. I haven't been told to take aspirin but most do get told to take it, it depends on your midwives etc.

I have my first consultant app in 1 week :) I am 22 weeks, my 20 week scan showed the baby was great and measuring at the correct date, tbh he was a little over for some measurements, including his belly lol!

I went on YouTube and found some videos on girls who had low Papp-a and most went on to have in fact bigger babies at 8pound plus. I found it comforting.

So nothing has been different to my pregnancy from a normal Papp-a level, apart from I get to see my baby every month :)

Also low Papp-a is sooooo common!! I've met 3 people alone within a similar due date to mine who all have low papp-a :-)

Ah thanks so much for replying! I’m staying away from google, had a late miscarriage last year so am on edge anyway! Luckily I am already under a consultant for my thyroid and have an appointment already booked for July so hopefully that will calm me down. I text the midwife and she didn’t seem that worried and said GP would be in touch about aspirin so I’ll just wait by the phone 😂 more scans and an extra eye on me can only be a good thing! 20 week scan is the week after the consultant app so keeping everything crossed that they are still okay! xxx
