Hi guys, I'm currently 4weeks & 4 days, and have been advised privately to take cyclogest 400g twice after recurrent miscarriages.

What are the side effects? What should I be looking out for?

Please let me know as it's my first time turning to medication. [hoping the baby sticks this time!]

@haidri I used cyclogest from 20-32 weeks for different reasons, can't say I had much in the way of side effects. If you insert it vaginally it can cause excess discharge and thrush, which I did get, so I switched to rectally x

It heightened all my symptoms, so made me more nauseous, sorer boobs, and constipated, which was great fun!

I was told specifically vaginally which I'm a tad bit anxious about

@Garman did you have the symptoms immediately?

I’ve been a week on it now. I use them rectally. As soon as I started, my symptoms grew ten fold. It’s calm down in the past couple of days. I don’t know it’s normal.

I have been on them due to doing ivf, started five days before transfer and have to take them up until 12 completed weeks of pregnancy.
Personally they did not give me symptoms or increase any, but then I have had little pregnancy symptoms also.
I use vaginally and I do get all the excess come out. Used to it by now

Within about 36 hours.

No side effects for me either, I don’t remember the consultant mentioning any.
