Labour 40 weeks

Morning all,

So I am currently 40 weeks (due date today) with my 3rd baby.

I had a sweep yesterday at 2.30 by my midwife and she said my cervix was a little long still however I was 2cm dilated and baby's head was so low (or her words was this baby's head is nearly out haha)

Since having the sweep I have lost my plug and had cramps and the off niggly pain but not major. Is this a good sign?

Currently bouncing on birthing ball hoping things will progress as I am really fed up and in pain with hips.

Sounds good! I had a sweep yesterday afternoon too (39+4 5th baby) I was 2cm dilated but could stretch more, and about 2cm thick and soft, baby 2/5 engaged.

Based on previous im likely to be induced but the way I'm looking at it is that if that's the case it will hopefully be straightforward.

Gutted to say I've had zero plug or twinges at all since, I even had sex this morning too to try and prompt things 😂

When did your others arrive?

Also 40 weeks today . Second baby 😁
My first was born at 35+3 for induction for pre eclampsia so I feel about 1000 days overdue all ready.
Saw midwife yesterday. Baby 1/5 engaged.
Having a sweep tomorrow

Ahh coming to ask the same 40+4 with 2nd and the waiting game is killing me off! Feel absolutely shattered and the nerves are really kicking in with each day that passes. No signs yet though good luck ladies! X

Hi,

Midwife said baby was 3/5 engaged.

My 1st was 3days late
My 2nd was 6 days but had to be induced due to reduced movements

Second sweep today at 40+3, no progression from last week really. Still 2-3cm dilated, she seemed to find it harder to reach than the MW did last week, still 2cm thick.
Baby 3/5 now so wrong direction, but as my 5th I know they pop in and out. Definitely a more thorough one than last week and more uncomfortable.

Had some blood when I got home but that's stopped, some cramps but nothing of note.

Induction is Friday.

Anyone else still waiting?
