Yes absolutely without hesitation. Covid is bad in pregnancy,

Ritamarie85 · 09/06/2021 23:02

Had first dose of pfizer at 19 weeks and second at 21 weeks. Was very happy to take it.

secular39 · 09/06/2021 23:04

No- I certainly wouldn't get it if I was under 15 weeks. There's major brain development going on in the early stages

India999 · 10/06/2021 08:15

Absolutely. Had first dose at 28 weeks and haven't second very soon. There are serious risks of getting covid in your third trimester and cases are rising.

India999 · 10/06/2021 08:15

*having second dose

Samanabanana · 10/06/2021 08:23

I have declined it while pregnant, will have it as soon as I can once baby is here

spacegirl123 · 10/06/2021 09:18

Just had mine this morning then had a panic on the way home. I've done all the research and read every report available so I know it's the right decision but just had a wee wobble. Just going to read some articles now about infection rates rising to reassure myself again xx

Ok feel better now 😳

No

Tibtab · 10/06/2021 09:49

Yes, Pfizer at 14 weeks, it was a hard decision.
I read the RCOG guidelines and was reassured by the numbers of pregnant women having the vaccine in the USA.

Amz6219 · 10/06/2021 10:01

Had it. First does of Pfizer last week at 20 weeks.

I feel 100% like it was the right decision - I feel a lot more relaxed and like I can enjoy the pregnancy a bit more now.

For me, the risks of COVID would be a lot higher (likely to have GD later in the pregnancy) than any potential vaccine risks so was a bit of a no brainer (although I still read up a lot and went back and forth for a few weeks) x

Amz6219 · 10/06/2021 10:02

*dose

WowStarsWow · 10/06/2021 10:38

Had first dose of Pfizer 2 days ago at about 11 weeks. I'd be much more worried about catching Covid while pregnant - it's so risky and I don't want to become a recluse for months.

WowStarsWow · 10/06/2021 10:40

Just to add, I saw stuff on here before about not having it in the first trimester. I asked my midwife and she said to follow the RCOG guidance as they haven't been told anything specific. There is nothing in the guidance to say that you shouldn't have it in the first trimester, so I think that is just scaremongering.

AyyX · 10/06/2021 10:42

No

justwant2beamum · 10/06/2021 10:51

No chance in hell.

Needingsupportplease · 10/06/2021 10:55

Nope

8dpwoah · 10/06/2021 10:57

I wonder how many people saying no way here would be so sure if they actually were pregnant and facing the prospect of worrying about being unprotected all the way through, frequently visiting hospitals, then known and well-reported increased risks if you have covid in the third trimester particularly, etc? I imagine a lot are either pre or post pregnancy and therefore aren't thinking the same as someone actually pregnant who is being informed with up to date information by their medical professional team rather than the Daily Mail (or equivalent).

8dpwoah · 10/06/2021 10:58

I should say I defend any pregnant woman's right to refuse the vaccine after having that information and discussion, I've said that on every thread, but I'm just pointing out that hypothetical thinking can be very different when you're facing the reality of the choice.

Sunflowerx · 10/06/2021 11:05

Had my pfizer a few hours after my 20 week scan :)

Chocoqueen · 10/06/2021 11:12

Yes, had my first (pfizer) at 28 weeks, me second is booked for 10 days before my due date.... might see if I can bring it forward a bit!

AyyX · 10/06/2021 11:15

@8dpwoah that’s your opinion, worry about yourself. I just gave birth 4 weeks ago and I still thought no while I was pregnant.

LittleLottieChaos · 10/06/2021 11:18

Had my first dose of Pfizer yesterday, just a dull arm ache. I feel much happier having it done.

Read about Grace Victory and her miraculous survival from Covid… I don’t want to even fathom putting myself in that position by choice.

SlovenlyUnwedMother · 10/06/2021 12:12

Yep. I booked it as soon as it was open to my age group and will be having my first dose at 33 weeks. I did my research and for me the risk of getting covid this late in the pregnancy outweighed the small chance of there being issues with the vaccine.

Plus with everything opening up and people increasingly ignoring mask wearing/social distancing guidelines I will feel a lot more comfortable even having a little more protection (my second dose isn't until after the birth but it's better than nothing).

I'm also keen for the baby to get the benefit of the antibodies through breastfeeding.

It's a personal choice and I respect everyone's right to do what they feel is best but for me the evidence is clear and it's a no brainer.

spacegirl123 · 10/06/2021 12:12

@8dpwoah yes it was such a tough decision and it's a really personal decision. Whatever anyone decides is the right thing for them.

But yes it has been difficult listening to people (mum and MIL mostly) trying to put me off it when they are both double vaccinated and not pregnant and don't have the anxiety of not only this decision but the fear of catching covid amidst rising cases, new variants and without the protection of lockdown.

My mum keeps saying "but your sister just isolated during her pregnancy". No my sister was in lockdown during her pregnancy, as was the rest of the country. Thanks mum 🙄
