Hi all

I had my 12 weeks scan tomorrow and my NT measured at 3.6mm. As the “normal range” is 3.4mm and below, I have now been referred to a specialist Fetal Medicine Unit for further tests and a CVS.

I am so unbelievably upset. I was told due to the severity of my PCOS and endometriosis I would likely never get pregnant, let alone naturally, then me and my fiancé fell within two months of trying - it felt like a miracle. Now we are faced with the possibility that our little rainbow may have a lethal abnormality.

I’d be so grateful for any advice or experiences. I’m new to mumsnet but have read enough threads to see how wonderful a community it is. Please help if you’re able.

Thanks in advance. K x

I'm just hoping that the NT has gone down.

Also, is it possible to be measuring a week ahead? When we went for the NIPT we thought we were 10 weeks 5 days but she measured us at 11 weeks 5.

We thought it wasn't possible due to us being a same sex couple and having IUI. Frozen sperm only lasts 12 hours 🤷🏼‍♀️

@alwayspositive I'm no expert but what I would say is don't place too much on their measurements - our girl has been small, big, bang on.... changes every time haha xx

I’m so glad it worked ok well for you. In case anyone else stumbles across this thread I just wanted to add that you can have NIPT on NHS now. As of 1st July. Not all midwives seem to know but it is officially on PHE nationwide screening programme now.
