Hi all!

I'm 17 weeks but my midwife has been on annual
leave so I have my appointment this afternoon. Originally it was over the phone but she text me this morning are told me they're now doing face to face appointments! 🙌🏻

What should I expect from this appointment? X

I had my 16 week appointment last week. The midwife tested my urine (I took a sample), checked blood pressure & listened to the baby's heartbeat with the Doppler. She also gave me my next appointment & my glucose tolerance test appointment too.

Although it’s perfectly normal for them not to be able to locate heartbeat via Doppler at this point so don’t worry if this is the case! Some won’t even listen as it worries people

Yes the midwife did warn me she might not pick it up as I was only 15+4. I can see why some places don't as it would cause anxiety if they couldn't pick it up.

@OliviaL9530 Yeah, exactly the same as @JackJack84. Although in my area they don’t use the Doppler at all until after 20 weeks so don’t be surprised if they don’t listen to the heartbeat 😊

Thanks all! If the Doppler isn't offered I'll ask but will prepare for a no haha x

Bloods, urine sample, blood pressure, weighed.
I got to listen to heartbeat, i took a video of it as my partner couldn’t make app.
Generally ask how you are etc.
I used to love my midwife apps tbh!
