Hi

I'm 14 weeks pregnant with my second baby. After 12 weeks of hellish nausea, vomiting and indigestion I'm now left with a horrid taste in my mouth 24/7. Has anybody been through this? Any idea how long it lasts or how to get rid of it. I live on chewing gum at the moment but that just helps increase the hunger:-(

I don't want to depress you but I had the horrible taste until DS was three or four months old! There is a good reason for it (something to do with hormones?) - perhaps someone medical will come on to enlighten us?

I was afraid this would end up being yet another pregnancy hormone thing. Didn't have it first time around though so I was convinced this was payback time for bragging about a perfect first pregnancy...

when brushing my teeth my gums would bleed a lot and i would get a horrible taste in my mouth all day. i found rinsing and gargling with salty water a couple of times a day helped.
i know its not the same but HTH.

Hi I had this for the whole nine months
Was really sick and ended up in hospital and had to take pills (cycyzine[sp?]) also for 9 months.
I'm pleased your nausea has subsided but boy that taste is awful, hope it goes soon.
