Help!! Clarithromycin and Pregnancy

Is it safe to take clarithromycin 500 mg twice a day while pregnant? 😫 I'm 26 weeks I tested H Pylori positive

Have you been prescribed. It’s a horrible antibiotic but sure if you have been prescribed it’s fine. Can you request an alternative? It was prescribed for my son and made him ill and a consultant put him on a more broad spectrum antibiotic.

Clarithromycin is used for treatment of H. pylori. Have you been prescribed a second antibiotic? It's usually treated in combination. You're past the first trimester which is when clarithromycin can cause problems. Have you got any allergies?
