Low lying placenta / pressure

I'm 18 weeks, recently had a small bleed and had to visit EPAU. Was scanned and the sonographer found a blood clot and a low lying placenta. She said neither were anything to worry about at this stage and there is high chance the placenta will move.

However, when I've been sitting down for a while and suddenly stand I often get a sharp pressurey pain feeling that feels like its in my vagina. It stops me in my tracks for a second and then its gone. I also can't stand anything putting pressure underneath my bump, not even underwear which is hardly tight. I wondered if it might be related?

Anyone experienced anything similar?

I think it's unlikely to be related but mention to your midwife.

I am 35 weeks now and had low lying placenta picked up at my 20 week scan. I think it's not so low now but
I get that feeling of pressure under my bump eg with trousers feeling tight. I don't think it's related to where the placenta is but I'm not an expert.

Ok thats interesting to know, thank you @ElderMillennial , I don't remember feeling this way with my first, I barely felt any different to normal. I just feel achey and uncomfortable all the time already! I will mention it to my midwife.

I have a low lying placenta which I have never had before and feel a kind of heaviness down below and a deep pressure. My midwife initially said that it was likely to be due to a weakened pelvic floor as I have 2 children already. When I asked if it could be due to the placenta she said yes because of the weight if it and baby. I don't feel it all the time but I do notice it more in the mornings and after exercise.

I have a low lying placenta, was diagnosed at 20 week scan and hasn’t moved yet (nearly 32 weeks). I had that feeling when standing up suddenly earlier on in my pregnancy but it stopped around 20 weeks. In the last week I’ve started getting the lightening feeling people describe down there. I went a walk the other day and during the walk had to stop because of the shooting pains, I think it only happens when his head is low down. He seems to move between breech and head down so often and when there’s pressure down there it’s not comfy at all, didn’t really consider it could be placenta related but it might be

Perhaps! Could also be weakened pelvic floor, although I think my pelvic floor is pretty good. My stomach muscles are shot tho and I can feel the top of my uterus level with my bellybutton so wonder if it's just a lot of growth going on and my organs moving around too.
