I'm coming up to 24 weeks and have noticed I'm feeling a bit uncomfortable now with bending down and if I eat a large meal (Sunday dinner for example) I feel like I've got a beach ball tucked under my clothes.

Slightly concerned I'm feeling this way and not even in the 3rd trimester yet 😕

Also have a tight feeling around my belly. Need to get the stretch mark oil out pronto!

It became uncomfortable to bend at the hips ages ago, almost 30wk now. Still manage barbell squats but had to widen my stance to hit depth and make room for baby bump. My belly is now very stretched. I'm covered in stretch marks anyway, large babies and twins so nothing would have saved me from them. I'm probably in for another big one, have a growth scan in 2 weeks so will see then.

I didn't. Went to 41+5 with a 10lb 13oz baby and besides a tiny bit of carpal tunnel I was totally fine. I was anxious I would feel uncomfortable too as I did get a bit of back pain around your stage but sleeping with a pillow between my knees sorted that and then I was totally fine. One of the happiest times of my life.

36 weeks

Moonshine11 · 06/06/2021 20:08

36 weeks for me, hit me like a train

Rubyrecka · 06/06/2021 20:33

I've only really noticed it this weekend because I've been walking about more than usual (going to the beach etc) and I'm more conscious of it than before

I did have some lower back discomfort around a week ago but I'm putting that down to doing deadlifts in the gym and over stretching

5 weeks. Don’t bother with the oil, stretch marks are mostly genetic and nothing helps. (I did nothing and didn’t get any.)

Rubyrecka · 06/06/2021 20:46

@MySocalledLoaf yes I agree it's all down to genetics I'm hoping it helps with the stretchy feeling

I'm 30 weeks and I feel alright, just a bit lumbery lol.

georgarina · 06/06/2021 20:50

Oh and epsom salt baths helped me with the tight skin feeling

Flowerpot28 · 06/06/2021 20:52

33 weeks and I’m done lol.. you can actually see how exhausted I am

Rubyrecka · 06/06/2021 21:06

@georgarina ah does it? That's great I wouldn't have thought to try them

Since about 25 weeks after meals, but baby has her bum & legs under my ribs so everything feels really squashed. I'm 32+4 now & really uncomfortable at night, with or without pillows. I think I would be fine if we could sleep on our backs! I'm also really uncomfortable after walking for more than 15 mins.

hkp288 · 07/06/2021 15:21

I became particularly uncomfortable from 28 weeks but would get very tired and slow into short walks from week 18. Now week 33 and I need to make sure I don’t eat as much as I used to in one sitting or I get really sore and uncomfortable for quite a few hours. Walking around is uncomfy now as babies head is in my pelvis. Bending over is a no go now. Getting dressed and drying myself after a shower also more difficult and time consuming

Chelyanne · 07/06/2021 17:22

I breezed through my 1st pregnancy and felt normal until birth. SPD has plagued all my other pregnancies though and this is a real stinker of a thing to have. Still power through but it fecking hurts!!

Rubyrecka · 07/06/2021 23:02

Yes I've also noticed the walking getting harder and I feel like I get out of breath easier so have to slow down

1st pregnancy i felt fine the whole way through (apart from early sickness) but never uncomfortable/sore.
2nd pregnancy feel like i'm been uncomfortable/sore since the day I saw that line on the pregnancy test lol realistically from about 18/20 weeks i've felt it uncomfy

It has varied for me and comes and goes - I generally haven't been uncomfortable much at all, but right before my bump 'popped' (became obvious to other people) around the 23 week mark I felt constantly 'stretched' and a bit uncomfortable, like being bloated but without the internal discomfort/tummy ache, just 'stretched'. But that has gone away now, I might have a day or two like that but not the whole time. Then I had pretty bad mid back ache from about 25-28 weeks, getting a bump support belt helped a lot. I am now getting a bit breathless doing exercise (e.g. going upstairs) now I'm 33 weeks, even though I'm very fit. But I'm still comfortably able to do 2 hour walks for example (although probably need a nap after...)

So the good news is I found that 'tight' feeling goes away, it's just your skin and organs adapting and you probably won't feel like it the whole time, it will come and go.

I've slathered myself in doublebase (an emollient (i.e. intense body lotion) for eczema but you can get it over the counter) and have no stretch marks at all.
