HELP! 7 WEEK SCAN MEASURING SMALL

Hi,

long story short i ovulated on the 14/04 and got my positive 10 days later. (i was using follicle tracking as i was in letrozole).
I went for an early scan assuming i was around 6 weeks and she said i was measuring small around 2.5mm with a heartbeat. This worried me and with the back pains i was having i got referred to the EPU. They measure me at 2.5mm and told me to come back in 8 days. So I went back and the CRL had only grown 1mm to 3.5mmConfused and the heartbeat seemed quite slow. I've been advised to go back in 10 days for another scan to see if its grown. Has anyone been in a similar situation and had a positive ending?
need some reassurance! thanksDaffodil

I'm sorry for the anxiety and the uncertainty of the situation.
The fact that there was a heartbeat on both scans is positive. However, what do you mean by "slow"? Did the sonographer say it was slow or did you get the impression?
CRL is supposed to grow 1mm per day on average during early pregnancy, so in 8 days you'd expect a growth of about 8mm.
Waiting to see what happens is hard, possibly the hardest part of early pregnancy. I'm sure someone will comment with a positive story and I hope you soon have one too! 🤞🏻

Hi Eloise, thanks for the reply! It was the nurse who rebooked me the scan who said that 'the heart rate was slow' but they didnt give me an actual rate. The sonographer didnt mention this to me whilst I was in the scan, she said everything was fine except the growth, so left me confused x

Hi Stardust, aww its reassuring to have someone to go through this with, its such an awful experience especially the wait! did you have a scan prior to this one and how far along are you? xx

I wouldn't worry to much, the early scans can be really out! In my case a week out by the time they dated me at 12 weeks.

As long as you're not heavily bleeding with severe cramps try to sit back and relax 🥰🥰 xxx

How did this work out for you Sparkle? I’ve had 1mm growth and slow heart beat in a scan 8 days apart too and was told it was ominous. I hope it went ok for you?

Hi, hope you're well! please try not to overthink and stress as this just makes it so much harder (even though i know you cant help it). Mine ended with a missed miscarriage. Which then turned out to be a partial molar pregnancy. I waited I think 3 weeks in total for the heart beat to stop as the growth was still very small and heart rate was getting slower, then opted for a removal as it needed to be sent off. It was the worse few weeks of my life and the wait made it more heartbreaking BUT IT DOES GET BETTER, and please remember that❤️ I really hope you get a better outcome x

I had a scan 6 weeks a (a few days ago) and my CRL was 2.9mm - the Dr didn't mention anything about size but after reading this I'm anxious so following 😕

I suppose its a good thing if they didnt mention anything. The initial problem with mine was the growth between scans was very minimum. So try not to worry x
