I forgotten to take my pregnacare and folic acid the last 2 days! I usually take them at night time before bed, gone to bed early the last couple of nights and completely forgot to take them 🤦🏻‍♀️. I'm hoping this won't affect me too much?

You'll be fine!

itsme1978 · 05/06/2021 19:31

There's women who don't stop drinking/taking drugs/smoking during pregnancy .......I think you'll be totally fine as will your baby!

georgarina · 05/06/2021 19:34

There's folic acid in food as well, it's fine to miss a couple days. Get an alert for your phone!

Pinkblueberry · 05/06/2021 19:34

Too much? What are you expecting will happen at all?

SillyBry · 05/06/2021 19:37

Don’t worry, I’m useless! I like the seven seas ones as they have days of the week on the blister strip/packet, so I am better at remembering... but invariably, every time I finish one strip, I forget for 2/3 days before starting again.
Every little helps. Many women don’t take anything, it’s all good 👍🏻

Chelyanne · 05/06/2021 19:37

Not a big deal really.

I got put on blood thinners recently and keep forgetting about them, good job I set a daily reminder series on my phone or I would have missed some.

Tvscreen · 05/06/2021 20:10

You’ll be fine! I haven’t been taking mine regularly at all and I have friends who haven’t been taking anything at all. I think it’s vitamin D & folic acid which are the most important but you can get folic acid in food and vitamin d from the sun at the moment Grin

MrsWidgerysLodger · 05/06/2021 20:12

I was pretty sporadic with mine thanks to having a brain that falls apart like wet cake. DD (now 3.5) is perfect is every way and was at birth too (other than a few tests for a genetic condition which she a: doesn't have and b: is genetic therefore unrelated to vitamins). Her favourite game is now to try and leap at you WWE style off the soda when you're sat on the floor!

MrsWidgerysLodger · 05/06/2021 20:12

*sofa not soda!!!

lockdownbabyx · 05/06/2021 20:15

Thanks all! It was the folic acid I was more concerned about as I'm on a higher dose due to my BMI. Have set a reminder now though 😁. X

Don't worry it'll be fine .

To remember them for sure - set an alarm on your phone. When it goes on off take them straight away so you can't think "I'll do that in a minute" and forget ) be distracted. If in doubt set a second alarm for 5 minutes later to check you've actually taken them!

Thefaceofboe · 05/06/2021 21:20

It shouldn’t affect you at all really, it’s just an extra precaution. I kept forgetting mine too and also realised I was only taking 1 green pregnacare tablet instead of 2 Grin baby is fine!

JewelGarden · 06/06/2021 01:05

The vitamins are as much for you as the baby. The wee buggers leach everything they need from your very bones and teeth if they have to.

HolidayGolightly · 06/06/2021 07:22

@JewelGarden I had forgotten back when I first had my two sons that the obstetrician told me this. She said that the wee tots will "mine" your very bones for the nutrients needed and that is why I was taking extra calcium and vitamin D. It was more to keep my reserves replenished.

SemiFeralDalek · 06/06/2021 09:12

As long as you were taking them pre-conception and up to about 6 weeks pregnant (when the neural tube closes) the chances are overwhelmingly in your favour that your baby should be ok. Folic acid builds up in your system over time.
