Hi, just hoping to hear from people who have had similar experiences. I am currently just over 6 weeks pregnant. For the past 6 days I have had brown discharge when I wipe, sometimes it looks slightly pinkish but mostly definitely just brown. I rang my midwife who sent me for a scan at EPAU which was 4 days into the discharge. The sonographer saw a gestational sac which had grown from 10mm to 17mm since my last early scan (which I had due to a pain and they wanted to see if it was ectopic) and the yolk sac was still there 🤞 she said because of position they couldn't see anything else and I have to go back in 2 weeks time to check things are progressing. The discharge is still happening, it hasn't gotten any worse. I am just worried sick as I have never experienced this before and I have had 3 children. I'm terrified that when I go back in 2 weeks time there will have been no development 🙁 has anybody been through this sort of thing and had a good outcome?? ❤️🤞🤞

Unfortunately not. If I've had spotting for more than 2/3 days it's ended in miscarriage.
It's rubbish being in limbo but all you can do is hold on to hope until they confirm it either way. Good luck

I've been having both spotting and cramping for around two weeks. The midwife told me it can go either way, and I just need to wait and see.

If you do a search of the threads, though, you'll find plenty of posts where people have had healthy babies despite spotting.

I spotted with both of mine and they are currently playing a game together. Smile

I've had the same in all my pregnancies , it's quite common. With my last pregnancy I had bleeding up until 20 weeks but all was fine.

Amyy44 · 05/06/2021 11:52

Thanks everyone for getting back to me. I've never had spotting/bleeding or anything sinister in my last pregnancies which is why this is so scary for me. I don't have any pains at all its just the discharge which is only when I wipe after I've been for a wee. It's never enough to actually come out into my underwear (sorry 😂)
The waiting game is terrible. I try not to think about it and then end up googling things 50 times a day and finding all sorts of horrible stories 😩

I had this also from about 6 weeks... Culminating in quite a bad bleed at about 8 or 9 weeks. Very worrying but once they did the early scan and all was good the consultant said not to be overly worry if it was to happen again. My little one is 3 now.

Sorry about this ☹️ we're your miscarriages confirmed at a scan or did you end up with worse symptoms before hand if you don't mind me asking? x

I had this in both pregnancies at around 6 weeks but both turned out fine. Mine was only for a day or two.

Thankyou so glad everything turned out OK for you ☺️ this has been going on for 6 days now, sometimes it happens just once a day, sometimes a couple of times a day but always only when wiping xx

I remember that fear
Spotting and brownish when I wiped
I'm now shouting to the 14 year old who was born with no idea of the worry they had caused

Fingers crossed for you OP. Relax as much as possible. That's all you can do, and it's so hard!

😂😂 I hope to be doing the same in 14 years time!! The worry is unreal, I am googling myself crazy and everytime I read something positive it's followed by 100 stories that are horrible 😔 we've wanted this little one for so long. My partner is very much in the mindset of "you're being dramatic calm down everything's fine".. He says this about everything he's so far laid back he should be laying down!! Nothing phases him. I wish I could be more like him in situations like this, instead I'm on Google, I'm in the toilet every minute wiping and inspecting it's all I can think about. Every morning I get up and the discharge is still there I think right that's it it's over, then by the evening it's pretty much disappeared and I have hope again.. Then the cycle starts again in the morning 😵😵😵

I had discharge for a few days at 6 weeks pregnant and I went EPU and all was well. I then had a bleed at 11 weeks pregnant and baby was fine. Had brown discharge for a few days and then came back again a week later. I’m now 13 weeks pregnant. Fingers crossed all is well for you x

I had pink and brown discharge on and off between about weeks 6 and 10, and a heavier bleed around week 9. My 12 week scan was normal and I’m now 16 weeks with no further bleeding so far (touch wood!)

Amyy44 · 05/06/2021 12:50

Thankyou so much everybody for your replies they have filled me with hope 🤗 I'm still absolutely terrified and will be until the scan when I know exactly what's happening. Guess I just have to wait, hope and see ❤️ will keep you all updated if you'd like to know and will post my result so anybody else with same symptoms in the future can find a bit of insight x

Hi. I'm 6 weeks too and have had similar spotting twice now when I wipe but no pain. I'm off to EPU on Monday for a scan. It was after sex so I'm crossing my fingers that's the cause.

It's so stressful this uncertainty but I just keep saying to myself that it's temporary and nothing I do not will alter the outcome so all I can do is ride it out. Good luck to you.

Good luck I hope everything is good news for you please let me know 🤗🤞 Mine isn't from sex, we haven't done it since finding out I darent 😂 only because I had quite bad pains the day after my BFP, then that was resolved and now a few weeks later I have this discharge so haven't really fancied it 😂 Hopefully everything turns out good for the both of us xx

Hi, I’m having similar at the moment and worrying myself sick. Did yours turn out to be ok?

Tamtam86 · 19/01/2022 17:42

I had spotting in early pregnancy with both of mine and they are now 2&3, both absolutely fine. The bleeding turned into bright red gushing blood with clots the size of my first with my son and he was still in there totally fine, much to my disbelief! I think it can go either way but it doesn't necessarily mean all is over. It's bloody stressful though!! Hope everything is ok for you.

TTCfirstbabyx · 19/01/2022 19:20

Hi there,
I had quite a lot of brown spotting (into underwear) for about two weeks at around the stage you are at now.
I went to the EPAU and they said all was well.
After the daily brown discharge finally subsided, I had a few instances of pink discharge here and there (even a few small bits of red blood). Even though I was told I could see more by the EPAU it still sent me into complete panic every time.
I am now 22 weeks and my baby girl is growing nicely :)
I hope that all works out okay for you.
Best wishes x

SantoPalo · 19/01/2022 21:29

Hello, I experienced this for a few days in early pregnancy. I read somewhere that as you uterus stretches it can cause minor tears which can bleed. I hope everything works out OK

LightSpeeds · 19/01/2022 21:39

I've had ongoing brown discharge/bleeding with one pregnancy, and a very heavy bleed around 11 weeks with another pregnancy and all was fine with both.

I always assume if the bleeding's not getting heavier, redder or (more) painful then things are still stable (but still get checked out).

I know it's terrifying, though. I've had 5 babies and more miscarriages.

Best wishes
