Waiting for a bed on labour ward…

Went in for induction today at 40+5 due to baby measuring big and dropping a centile between scans.

2cm dilated, soft and thin cervix so don’t need pessary or balloon.

Going to break my waters

Sent too soon!!

Going to break my waters but need a bed on the labour ward for that, sent home at 12pm to wait for a phone call. Could phone anytime, if not heard by 9am I have to phone them to find out where I am on the list.

Time goes by, so slowly…

Oh hope it's soon! I was admitted, given the pessary which didn't work but they wanted me ring and around until there was a new available for a drip - 4 days later!! Glad you are home and hope you get s call soon

Managed to keep occupied since I got home earlier but not sure I’ll sleep much waiting, the longest part..

Oh no, I had to do this too so understand your frustration OP! I went in at 41+5 on 24th Jan, they said my waters were bulging so sent me home and had to wait around til 12 the next day when a bed was ready for me. Got in, waters popped, baby arrived by 5.30.

Hopefully not too much longer for you.

This happened to me with ds3 although I had to stay on the antenatal ward while I was waiting. By the time I got a bed I was 5cm dilated and he was born 2 hours later with no drip needed.

@Toastedsesame @wishing3 Finally a bed so went in for 5pm yesterday, a long day of waiting!

Baby boy was born at 11:10pm by emergency c section due to him pooping inside and his heart rate dipping when they put me on the drip.

He’s been in an incubator next to me ever since as his temperate is too low. Xx
