Hi just wanted some advice and no judgement please. I just found out I’m pregnant I think around 6/7 week from last period. The last few days I’ve been bleeding first it started off as very light and as the days have gone on it’s getting a little heavier sometimes brown, bright red or pink. I’ve got two boys and I know every pregnancy is different but I never experienced this. Just wanted some advice if anyone had this before? Thankyou

I bled at about 7 weeks. Started off as a light brown discharge and then went to fresh red blood with clots. I went for a scan and my baby was fine, they had no idea why I was bleeding but just explained that it's incredibly common.

I was always told that if theres any sign of fresh red blood then to go to A&E for a check just to be safe.

I had some spotting at 6w, and then 10w. All is okay, and they think the spotting is just from my cervix - there’s no indication of it coming from my womb.

The EPU told me that some bleeding is very common, and that if it’s not filling a pad in three hours, it’s probably not too much of a concern. If it’s more than a pad an hour, go to A&E. That said, they were always happy to see me and check my cervix was closed, although I didn’t manage to get a scan same day on either occasion; they don’t offer them routinely for bleeding at my hospital.

I’d definitely contact them, if you haven’t already x

I’m not sure what I want from this as I know a doctor is the right call but I have such huge anxiety that I’ve left it so long and now I’m worrying. So I asked before about bleeding and I left it hoping it would stop, but it’s been going on for two weeks now, am I miscarrying? Would it even be worth seeing someone at my local EPU as surely if it was the case of a miscarriage then it would near the end, would they still be able to help? I don’t want to waste their time! Of course I don’t want it to be that but my head keeps going back to that 😢 and I don’t know what to do!

I bled for 6 weeks straight from around 7/8 weeks. I passed massive blood clots and some times had blood pouting out of me.

They didn't know why, my baby was/is fine, it didn't affect him. They could actually see evidence of the bleed on my placenta after delivery.

If I were you, I'd get in touch with EPU and see if they can do a scan for you.

It's a horrible thing to go through and I'm so sorry you're going through this. I feel robbed of my first experience of pregnancy because of my bleeds. I didn't want to become too attached at first because I was so sure i wouldn't get to meet my baby. I don't think I started really bonding with my belly, and planning for the future until around 20 weeks, a d even then I was still pessimistic in some ways.

Hope it all works out for you

It’s been a tough one already and I don’t know how I feel at the moment but to have this extra worry on top I’m going out of my head! I really struggle to talk to people hence why I’ve left it so long . And my last pregnancy my little miracle survived a hydrops and cystic hygroma diagnosis the doctor couldn’t believe that he pulled through as with that diagnosis I was told it was best to terminate at 16 weeks as it’s normally comes with a very bleak survival rate and he’s now 2 with no problems at all! I’m glad for you that the pregnancy went well and Thankyou for your support I appreciate it! I can only but explain the situation I just feel/know something ain’t right. I just feel stupid as I left it so long! But hearing your experience gives me a little hope Thankyou!

You're not stupid, you're anxious.

This anxiety will not go away until you've spoken to someone and been seen. Just call your EPU. No judgement will be made.

I bled at around 11 weeks. It was bright red blood that then went to brown. They didn't know why. Said it was common.

He is nearly 2 Smile.

I had spotting at 5 weeks and epu scanned me and they saw a heart beat. I'm not 9 nearly 10 weeks and have been spotting on and off for a few days. I was so worried as I have had 2 previous mc.. my midwife assured me that spotting is actually fairly normal. That the sac the baby implants in comes away around now and that can cause spotting. Epu said that spotting doesnt necessarily come from the pregnancy. It could also be from a sensitive cervix or even Infection.

So there are plenty of reasons other than the worse case.. so speak to your epu they will probably scan you to put your mind at ease xxx

I bled from 6 weeks to 16 weeks with my first and I bled from 6 weeks to 12 with my current pregnancy (35 weeks now). I went for early scans with both and they said I had a blood clot which had possibly grown from implantation. On both occasions the baby was in its little sac next to the blood clots, my first pregnancy the blood clot was below the baby and came out causing me a large panic, the second time it absorbed. Both times I got checked out for reassurance as bleeding every day was so scary. If your unsure, for your own sanity go and get checked as every pregnancy is different 👌
