Insect repellents

Hi - any advice on insect repellents that are safe during pregnancy? I am prone to nasty insect bites and would normally use a deet spray but there's mixed advice!

They are okay to use and it's thought the benefits of using them outweighs the risk of being bitten.

My last miscarriage happened 8 days after being bitten by a tick so I have used repellents in this pregnancy. Apparently we smell a lot more appealing to bugs during pregnancy.

Thank you for this - yes I feel that the risks of being bitten and reacting badly are higher. Sorry to hear about the tick bite but sending well wishes for your pregnancy

I was told to avoid products with deet in, but others were safe to use. That was 20 years ago though.
