Hi everyone! If you’ve been prescribed progesterone is early pregnancy, how long did it take for you to feel the side effects of increased progesterone, if any?

Hi, I took Cyclogest from the time I found out to about 13.5 weeks (hospital wanted me to take until 12 weeks but I'd been prescribed up to 13.5 so took them all).
I was very sick and tired from weeks 6 to 10.5 but think that was normal pregnancy (was pretty sick with other successful pregnancy) and still nauseous now at 15 5.
I only had to take once a day so did at nighttime- make sure you lay down for 30 mins after inserting and wear a pad as it does leak out no matter how long you lay down for, it also gave the bedsheets some dodgy looking stains!

Mine took about 2 days for the side effects to kick aka in worsened my existing symptoms of constant nausea and exhaustion, not fun! I was prescribed 4 weeks worth but only took it 6 days (twice a day) because I couldn't cope with the added nausea and 2dc to mind.

If you use it rectally there's no mess and it doesn't come back out at all ime, advice I got on here.

@Jeds55 Good idea to add a liner! If some of it leaks out does that mean I’m not getting the full dose?

@Garman The consultant advised me to take it rectally too. Still a bit comes out, especially after my morning dose. I didn’t know I have to lie down afterward, but it’s logical. I feel silly now Blush

I’ve only just started. I had barely taken it twice (evening and then morning) that I started to develop huge, hard boobs. Could it have acted so quickly? It’s hard to distinguish between actual pregnancy symptoms and the progesterone especially because I’m so early still.
