Hello! I have currently had a laprascopy for a ectopic pregnancy where they removed my left tube I did bleed and lining of womb cone away last week I still have brown like discharge and it has been two weeks all of a sudden my boobs are sore I'm panicking now as I though hcg levels would of been at zero by now but a pregnant test is showing a faint positive is it possible for the levels to not have dropped yet and what is everyone's experiences I'm just so confused

I'm so sorry to hear that :-(
I lost my left tube last September. I had bleeding for about a week after, then a month later my first period. My first period hurt more than usual periods though.

I was told to take a test at 2 weeks and call back if positive, so I would be tempted to ring and speak to them, just to check.

I hope it's all ok - don't give up hope - I waited my 3 months post op and then fell pregnant straight away, so it's not the end of the world. I felt like when I had my op that was it... but actually, I healed well and there are lots of positive stories about pregnancy with 1 tube etc :-)

I am scared now could all this just be normal it's a really faint line hardly anything

Hcg has a half life of around 24 hours so every day it will halve. If you had very high levels - say over 5000 it could take over a week to reach zero

Unless of course you've had unprotected sex in the last 2 weeks in which case it could be a new pregnancy

@emsperk123 I'm sure it's still just leaving your system and there are no issues, but I would just ring either EPU or Obs & Gynae to get reassurance. It's not worth messing around with :-)

I rang the EPU and they said it can take up to 3 weeks for hcg levels to reach zero and obviously I have sore boobs and spots because of hormones I can't wait to get back to normal

That’s such a relief for you! I’m really pleased.
I know it seems an eternity to be on the mend... but actually, I found I needed the 3 month wait to focus on me and recover emotionally.
