When did you have your first pregnancy scan?

I've recently just had a successful IVF transfer. Currently 4w3d and the clinic have booked me for a scan at 7w3d. Will they be able to see much then?

Thank you x

Hi I had a scan around 7/8 weeks and it was a literal blob with tiny nubs for arms Grin the guy scanning said at this stage there isn't much to see, but we heard the heartbeat which was so so reassuring and the risk of MC drops significantly when you heart a heartbeat so it was great for that side of things! Good luck x

You should see a heartbeat then! We had one at 8 weeks and it was lovely and reassuring. Congratulations! X

Also ivf and I got one at exactly 7 weeks. Saw a little bean with a heartbeat.

It was over and done pretty quick tbh. And I was discharged from fertility clinic right after. When I was scanned I measured 6+1 rather than 10 weeks and so i had pure fear and thought it meant miscarriage on way. Tried to get reassurance from clinic but they said it was all fine and I could book a private scan if I wanted. So I did 🙈 had a private scan at 8 weeks last Thursday just to see if things were progressing and measured exactly 8 weeks then.

Thank you all for your replies.
They're all very reassuring.
I thought the 2ww was long! Now I've to wait another 3 weeks for the scan 😂 xx

I had a private scan at 7+2 with my 2nd DC and we could see a little peanut shape with sac, it was amazing. Good luck OP and enjoy every moment Flowers

I had an emergency scan at EPU at 6 weeks. I was advised in an ideal world they would see a sac and a foetus with a heartbeat, but, sometimes its far too early especially if your dates are wrong, and you see nothing.
I was very lucky and saw a heartbeat which reassured me (but only for a short time until I started the generalised panic again).
I was certain of my dates which was confirmed at the scan and if you have had IVF transfer, you will be sure too.
But things do develop at different rates so still could be a bit out timings wise.
Fingers crossed for you.

Also IVF, scan at 7 weeks also, just a blob with a heartbeat! They allowed us to go back at 9 weeks for another scan then discharged.
You’ll see a massive difference from 7 to 12 weeks
