Light brown discharge - 12 weeks

I had a bleed about 9 days ago, went to the hospital and got scanned and baby was fine. I did have brown discharge for 2/3 days after. Yesterday afternoon I’ve started getting brown discharge when I wipe. I do have my dating scan on Wednesday but I’m getting worried. I don’t really know what to do. Should I ring my maternity helpline and see what they say or just wait it out until Wednesday?

Oh and I’m either 12 weeks 3 days or 12 weeks 6 days

I know how worrying this is and yes I would ring your midwife or the helpline, they may be able to see you sooner.

If it helps at all I had spotting, had my first scan at EPU and found twins at around 6+5 a few days later my spotting turned into a big bleed and I was sure I was miscarrying. I then had another scan which showed my two beans with heartbeats and they could find no reason for the bleed. I’ve continued to spot on and off and I’m now 10+5 and had another scan last Friday and thankfully all was still well. I’ll be honest even with the scans I’m still petrified, but I’m trying my best to stay calm and hope for the best.

Spotting can be common in pregnancy and can occur for a number of reasons, it doesn’t always mean the worst but it’s always worthwhile getting it checked out.
