Nozeco help!

Hi. Just found out I'm having my first baby; coming up to 5 weeks so trying to hide it from work/family atm. I drank some Heineken 0 at a work thing and some nozeco last night which has 'alcohol free' on the front of the bottle but 0.5% ABV on the back. Freaked out. Dumped the rest. Spent hours on the internet. Anyone have any real advice on whether this is allowed please? Really appreciate it as I've nobody else to ask!

Most people don't even know they are pregnant at this stage so go on nights out drinking ect. Your baby will be absolutely fine, try not to worry

You'll be absolutely fine don't worry! You'd have to drink stronger alcohol in large quantities to cause any damage to your baby. Years ago women were told to drink Guinness in pregnancy for the iron!

What do you mean by ‘allowed’

You do not yet share a blood supply with the baby- it is in the yolk sack. Until the placenta forms and takes over, it is not a risk ( nit suggesting getting trollied!) but it will be fine.
0.5% is tiny. You would have to drink bathtubs full so quickly to change your blood alcohol, as you filter the blood and remove it.

Pregnancy anxiety is awful. Try to be kind to yourself and develop some self care habits now to look after your mental health.

If it makes you feel any better, I think orange juice is naturally around 0.5% ABV too.

I was just about to comment that orange juice is about the same ABV, plus there's alcohol in ripe fruit, yogurt, all sorts. What you drank is negligible.

Oh really, maybe that's why I have the urge to drink litres of it
