I’m 4 weeks pregnant and got a positive frer 3 days ago, I took another today and the line hasn’t got darker. I also took a clearblue digital which said not pregnant and the internet cheapies are negative too. I have been charting my temps all cycle and this morning it dipped by 0.4, although it was much earlier than my usual time so may not be accurate. I’m scared there is something wrong, can anyone reassure me this is normal? I did get implantation spotting a week before I got the positive on frer.

The line doesn't need to get darker, and your hormone levels can fluctuate throughout the day anyway.

Digital tests aren't as sensitive as other brands (such as FRER) so they're less reliable when you're in early pregnancy.

Good luck and try not to worry (easier said than done, I know!)

Hello. As someone who got a bit obsessed with testing after fertility treatment, I looked up some things and was told the following advice, especially during the early pregnancy phase

  • Be consistent with the type of tests you use
  • Always test your first pee of the day in the morning (or as close as you can get to first pee)
  • Leave it a couple of days between testing (if you have the patience)

As the person who replied said, your hormones can fluctuate at this early stage and every test has a different sensitivity so you could be using a less sensitive test resulting in a negative test.

If you get to week 5/6 and are still nervous about it, talk to your GP and/or a midwife and see what they say.

I know they rarely offer a blood test to confirm pregnancy anymore which I was shocked by but they might if you explain the circumstances!

Its difficult but try not to worry :)

Give it a week and test again.

If you are getting negatives then it could have been a chemical pregnancy. If you are pregnant there should be a clear 2nd line. Good luck
