Nausea gone at 6 weeks

Hi there, just wondering if anyone else experienced their nausea leaving at 6 weeks? I was never sick but couldn't eat much and now I feel normal and my appetite is back. Going for wees in the night but other than that no other symptoms. Typically I had a scan at 5. 5 weeks and all was fine but I still had my morning sickness then. Isn't it a poor sign that it's suddenly stopped? Had a missed miscarriage before where symptoms stopped. So worried.

Hi! I am going through the same! I had terrible nausea from 5.5 weeks, and yesterday at 7 weeks its stopped. I had a mmc in November, where my symptoms stopped around 5.5 weeks, but I never had nausea back then. I am terrified but they say the symptoms comes and goes so it can be normal. Did you book another scan? NHS is not willing to see me as there is no pain or blood. I have a privet scan booked for next Saturday when I will be 8w3d (last time I started to bleed at 8 weeks, that is why I wanted to book it after) but not sure if I can wait for that long now...

Mine went at 7 weeks and never came back, it only lasted around 3-4 days. Its not really that unusual, don't worry.

Amz6219 · 27/05/2021 09:49

Mine came and went, panicked that it had gone a couple of times (had MMC last year and so I was hyper aware of everything) but then it came back with a vengeance! x

Thanks for your replies. It feels so lonely not being able to tell anyone what your going through! I have a scan booked in ten days time due to the previous mm. Tina, yours has only been gone a day! I wouldn't panic, mines nearly been gone a week. Yeah the midwife said if there's no pain or bleeding then there's no reason for alarm and that nausea can go at anytime. Horrible feeling though to have such strong symptoms and then for them to go.

Sivawn, did you have any other symptoms? Xx

Same as the others, mine came and went and I panicked a few times. Sometime I'd feel better for a week and then it would come back so much worse. I didn't have the need to wee in the night until second trimester and the only other symptom I consistently had was sore boobs.
I also had 2 mmc so totally understand the worry. For both my mmc, the symptoms didn't really fade until a week after I'd fully miscarried so I don't think symptom spotting is an accurate way to predict a problem.
It's normal to feel nervous, there is a book called Pregnancy After Loss which has been amazing for me, see if you can get a copy. Also do you have a close friend or family member you can talk to about how you're feeling? I am a really private person but by sharing my experience with some friends it's become apparent that a lot of my friends had similar issues with miscarriage or fertility issues and it's nice to have someone to talk to who really gets it.

Goonbear · 27/05/2021 10:27

Thanks for your lovely reply knock. I'm scared to tell my friends as then il have to tell them again if it's bad news. I just want to tell people happy news! Tina, did you have any symptoms with your mmc? I had a tiny amount of brown spotting about a week or just over after it happened. Hoping that if I don't get that this time it might be OK xx

I only had nausea VERY early on and it did come and go every few days. Some days I'd feel normal and then a few days later some symptoms would come back.
Definitely can be normal for symptoms to come and go or just go all together.
I remember panicking about it at the time as I'd had a miscarriage a few months earlier

jdy123 · 27/05/2021 10:34

Also want to add I had absolutely no symptoms and I was like that all the way through ! Didn't feel pregnant until I started getting a bump ha

Goonbear · 27/05/2021 10:45

Thank you for the reassuring comments xx fingers crossed xx

@Goonbear I know it`s only been a day, but this is how my mmc started. I felt exhausted, had a lot of cramping on my left side (not painful, but it was constant) and the next day I woke up and both gone!
My breasts were sore till I started to bleed at week 8. My other symptom was constipation a week after the pregnancy stopped. I guess my hormones were all over the place and my body was confused.
I am a bit more hopeful this time as I have no cramping (only on week 4) and no bleeding at all (I had implantation spotting with my previous one).

Goonbear · 27/05/2021 16:08

I've tried to take my mind off it this afternoon. You can't change the outcome. If you scan early you will still worry so might as well wait until just after 8 weeks like you say. Keep us posted and hopefully it will be OK for us both xx ps I didn't have sickness last time with my mmc either, how strange, weve been through very similar!!

How are you getting on @Tina88?

Hi @Goonbear, jumping in here to share my recent experience which sounds similar to yours. I am currently in my 2nd pregnancy (1st pregnancy ended in MMC in Dec). For my current pregnancy I had symptoms at 5 weeks that seemed to disappear for a few days around 6 weeks. I panicked and booked an early scan at 6.5 weeks, fully expecting the worst. But no - saw a baby with a lovely heartbeat :-)

I'm now 9 weeks and my symptoms are still very much coming and going - some days hardly anything and other days a bit of nausea and tiredness but nothing to write home about.

I totally get why you are anxious and I am the same. Pregnancy after a MC is even more anxiety inducing than normal. But pregnancy symptoms do come and go, and some people harldy have any symptoms at all.

If you can afford it I would recommend getting an early scan to put your mind at ease. I went at 6.5 weeks which was quite early but I was lucky to see a heartbeat. I've since had a scan at 8 weeks, and I'm going to go for one at 10 weeks too... I just can't wait until the NHS one - it seems so far away! I think because my symptoms are quite mild and obviously I don't have a bump yet, I needed the scans to show me that I was actually pregnant!

Wishing you all the luck xx

@tartanblanket that's such a sweet message and really appreciated, thank you. My symptoms came back on Friday but only lasted a day and then disappeared again. Yes, it's so hard especially as we have fertility issues on the first place and this was such a happy surprise. It came straight after a chemical! I have a scan on Monday so not too much longer to wait. Just hanging on to hope really as other than the loo 2/3 times a night have no symptoms which is so strange after the strong nausea weeks 4 and 5. Thanks for being so kind as to share your experiences and good luck too xx

Amazing @Goonbear 🥰

Amz6219 · 08/06/2021 12:45

Yay! Great news! :)

They really do! I've had 20 week scan now and all perfect, but I still had huge Scanxiety beforehand! x

Tina8800 · 09/06/2021 07:45

@Goonbear I am so happy for you!

I had my scan last week 8+3, the baby was measuring 8+6 with a heartbeat!
Still really worried, but as you said, symptoms comes and goes! :)

Goonbear · 10/06/2021 16:09

Brilliant Tina and thanks everyone. Hoping the next scan is good news too.

@Goonbear thank you for updating 🥰 I'm 6+1 and randomly woke up feeling fine today after a week of horrific sickness!

Nice to know it's seemingly normal and not a bad sign! X
