Severe nausea all day

Hiya, I'm 5-6 weeks pregnant and already dealing with nausea that comes in waves all day and night. It's making me wonder how on earth I'm going to cope feeling like this for so many more weeks 😢

Can anyone else relate or give advice? I'm struggling to finish a meal because even if it's something I fancy I end up not being able to stomach it.

Sorry to hear this, its horrible isn't it? I found the cold, carbonated drinks really did take the edge off and I used to munch on Icelollies most of the day

I feel you. Try to never get to a point where you get too hungry, it’s game over, eat little and often. I found very cold drinks helped, particularly fizzy. Don’t feel guilty about what you eat or drink, if you fancy it, have it! Also don’t be afraid to contact your GP should it get too bad, I waited til 13 weeks before I got anti sickness tablets as I thought it was going to magically stop at 12 weeks (stopped 16/17 weeks for me).

Get thee to the hyperemesis thread on here and to your dr in real life.
Tried to be a martyr in pregnancy 1 ... until I was hospitalised at 10 weeks, and again at 12 weeks, and again at 14.
This time I contacted the dr before the wee was dry on the test and got medication / a treatment plan in place early doors. I’ve been sick once, had some nausea but not exactly debilitating like last time and (crucially from a medical point of view) not lost weight.

I only ate carbs and fruit for most of both pregnancies. I just couldn’t stomach even the thought of veggies,I’m still off meat and I’m 9 months pp and bf.

I found it ease at about 10 weeks.

Pregnancy sickness Support

I am 8 weeks pregnant and really struggling with sickness. I have tried biscuits, ginger, tea, carbs, fruit and nothing makes me feel better. Does anyone have any out of the box suggestions?!!

BikeRunSki · 27/05/2021 16:32

@haos203 your GP can prescribe anti-sickness medication. As well as that, at one point, the only way I could get fluids in was with lemonade ice lollies!

I'm currently around 8 weeks and really suffering with nausea rather than sickness. Mine seems to peak when I'm hungry and also from around 9pm onwards- Ive found sleeping on my left side eases it...not sure why.
Try drinking lemonade.
I seen a tip on Facebook apparently the smell of any alcohol based cleaning products helps
