39+4 …Early Labour?

Had a sweep at 38 weeks, unsuccessful, cervix posterior, firm and closed. Sweep at 39+1 (Monday), successful, medium, 1cm dilated, she felt baby’s head. I know sweep now successful as been more than 48 hours since but positive difference between the two.

Woken at 1am with lower back ache, tightening of my belly (someone pulling an elastic band round me) and needing a loose bowel movement (sorry TMI!).

Early labour?

Sounds like it. Are you timing your contractions?

Went back to bed, still got the lower back ache and tight stomach but think it must have been braxton hicks. Will see what happens!

I had this on and off for weeks. It was the most frustrating thing in the world! I hope it comes for you.

2 days after my sweep I had a day of tightenings which stopped for the evening, went to bed and was woken up by some discomfort at 1am stood up and waters broke. Baby born 5 hours later!
