Pushchair recommendations for a one-handed Mum

Hello,

I'm 23 weeks pregnant with our first. I have a disability which means I can only use my right hand.

I'm looking for pram recommendations please - they must be easy to fold/unfold one handed and be lightweight. I am going to have a look in a shop next week but there's so much choice I don't know where to start!

Wow, thank you so much for all your replies. I'm so, so grateful and there are some excellent suggestions here. I'll report back 😄

Just to add that part of my rationale for suggesting the vista was that the JL shop attendant who demo'd it to us only had one hand herself and made it look easy!

@raeroe

I had a mamas and papas armadillo push chair and it could definitely fold with just one hand. Not sure it's suitable from birth though but I'm sure they had a pram version that was similar.
This is what I had, with the carry cot attachment. Definitely one-hand fold in pushchair mode and with the carrycot detached from the frame but I think it needed two hands to remove the carrycot.

But the carry cot isn't essential, it's a fully lie-flat seat so could be used from birth.

The yo-yo would be perfect except you do need to press two buttons to collapse the handle when folding. After that it can be done one handed and opened one handed.

Just remembered our pram brand name- Joie. It hit my spec amazingly- light, one handed push, not infuriating harness for babe.
Fits the Joie car seat. Half the price of other brands.
I found the armadillo very heavy. And it doesn't stand up by itself, the Joie does. Important on a rainy day with (potentially) screaming child.
Definitely check out that brand.
I bought it as couldn't afford the yoyo. But there were quality issues with the yoyo, none with Joie.

The pram standing up when folded is another really good point - lots of them don't, which means you need to hold toddler in one hand and pram in the other. Won't be possible if you only have one hand to use. Although I suppose you could put toddler into car and then fold the buggy.

The Mamas and Papas Ocarro folds one handed easily with the seat still in place and it stands up when folded too. Lovely to push too but the downside is it is pretty heavy to pick up when folded. I think they have just released a really light range called Airo? Still with one handed fold.

Another vote for baby jogger city mini, I went through about 12 different pushchairs in my first pregnancy and wish I'd got it from the start, it's brilliant although the new ones look different they still have the same system for folding. It's brilliant if you travel as well, as having a child on your hip and folding is so simple. Has a massive hood, it good for bigger kids too, big basket space and lies flat. I'm definitely getting one for this pregnancy.
