Drop your stories I'm 37 weeks, excited, curious and impatient 🤣

Oblivious. DS born at 39 weeks on a weekend, I felt fine and worked/commuted as normal on the Friday. Went for a long walk on the Saturday, Wagamamas for lunch and then got home and thought I had indigestion. Until DH pointed out that the waves of indigestion were coming at fairly regular intervals...

Managed at home for quite a while (sent DH to bed and then had a long bath at 1am which helped, although I was squirming due to contractions). Eventually went into hospital, had to argue for them to check me and then they agreed to keep me in, and DS was born 4 hours later.

By this time it was about 7am Sunday morning and I'd been up all night so fell asleep. Woke up a few hours later to see DH holding a baby and eating my breakfast!

I felt the same as I had done for the last week or so of pregnancy, uncomfortable with lightning crotch and minor backache but nothing out the ordinary. Then bam, waters broke just as I got into bed, contractions kicked in a few hours later

Chanel05 · 26/05/2021 12:06

Absolutely no different to normal. Went out for dinner with my dh on due date and baby just felt really heavy. It was a Tuesday and I said, "I bet we have a baby by the end of the week." 9 hours after I said that, I started having contractions.

pissface · 26/05/2021 12:42

I had really bad d and v. I thought it was illness but now I think it was my body trying to get rid of everything before labour.

TokyoSushi · 26/05/2021 12:44

Totally normal, like an absolute ginormous whale, but otherwise normal. Went to bed, woke at 3am with a massive pain and waters went about 2 minutes later!

DaisyChainsForever · 26/05/2021 12:47

I felt really tired. the most tired i've ever felt. then i got an upset tummy (sorry tmi) and a headache. i went to bed about 7pm. A few hours later, at 2am my waters broke in bed Confused

RaininSummer · 26/05/2021 13:11

Totally normal other than being a big heffalump . Wasn't due for 2 more weeks so a big surprise. 2nd time dragged into hospital for pre (pre) eclampsia and did feel a bit like something was going to happen.

mrsed1987 · 26/05/2021 13:19

24 hours before I had strong period pain, really inconsistent though. 11pm my waters broke. Went to hospital about 12am and was 8cm. Born at 4.41am.

SillyBry · 26/05/2021 14:34

I had really bad headaches and slept most of the weekend, which is really unusual for me. Then Monday, I felt much better. That evening, my boobs leaked and I went to bed as normal. Woke up at 1am with some mild contractions. Got through the night with contractions every 5-10 mins, but not too painful. Got up in the morning, everything eased off and I mosied through the day in early labour. Walked the dogs, did the horses, went to hospital at 8pm for a check and was 1cm. Was admitted at 4am in active labour, had baby at 11.48 :-)

Cleaning the patio doors. Think that did it. I never clean the patio doors but something compelled me. Confused

ChunkyButFunky87 · 26/05/2021 14:42

Emotional. A lot more than usual. I cried over a crap cup of tea my husband made me. I put a Disney film on to cheer myself up . . I cried at that lol

chelle862 · 26/05/2021 14:55

Early hours of Friday morning I woke up to what felt like thunderbolts going through my cervix, took some painkillers and slept until 12. Had a bath, curled up on the sofa, cried to my mum that she was never going to come out. Went to bed around 10, woke up at 11.45 thinking that doesn't feel right, but no big gush of waters and contractions at odd intervals. Dd was born at 6.10 on the Saturday morning.

BendingSpoons · 26/05/2021 14:59

Normal. Grumpy and uncomfortable but no signs.

With my first I had a midwife appt where I was booked in for induction and then went out for dinner. Labour started a few hours later and I gave birth 9 hours later.

With my second it was similar but labour was quicker and I didn't get the meal out!

CoffeeRunner · 26/05/2021 15:04

In hospital being constantly monitored with all 3. All inductions for medical reasons.

Sorry. Not terribly helpful to you Grin.

Raggeo · 26/05/2021 15:05

48h before I was out with friends for drinks (obvs. I wasn't drinking alcohol) and 24h before I was out for a meal with my work colleagues. The afternoon my labour started I felt incredibly tired and a bit sicky. Thought I'd just overdone it the days before with 2 late nights.

Jowak1 · 26/05/2021 15:10

I didn't feel quite right but couldn't put my finger on what was wrong I just felt under the weather then a little while later the contractions started and I realised why I hadn't felt great

SteveArnottsCodeine · 26/05/2021 15:11

With DD1 I felt exactly the same as I had done for the whole pregnancy, which wasn’t great but not like I was in labour. Had a massive urge to clean the house from top to bottom in the morning and then went round to my parents about 3pm and had tea with them. Got home to DH at about 7pm and starting having what I thought were Brixton Hicks. By 11pm they’d got stronger and were only 3mins apart so we went to the hospital and DD was born at 7am.

Second time I felt unwell but had a cold. Went for lunch, felt headachey and rough. Went to bed and woke to very clear contractions. Second daughter born about two hours later, just after getting to the hospital.

Both at 39+4 oddly, neither one dramatic onset but equally not drawn out.

Good luck!

Fispi · 26/05/2021 15:13

Fed up of intense Braxton Hicks that I'd had for 5 weeks, huge and uncomfortable. Went in for induction at term +10. DC was born the next day.
Currently uncomfortable, huge and waiting for DC2. Excited for induction day!
