When did you notice the itching the second time around?

I'm itching like you wouldn't believe but I'm pretty sure it's all in my head. I was diagnosed at 26 weeks last time but I'd been itchy for a while before that but I can't remember how long.

I really hope it's not that.

13 weeks. Get your LFT's tested and get urso as soon as thye show an increase. It's more survivable 2nd time around - honest. I thought mine was psychosomatic as well, but a lovely midwife persuaded me that my subconcious itching could not be anything but real.

Latest (well 2006) guidelines for treatment are here

Make sure you don't get fobbed off with piriton, or admitted - it really isn't necessary. Good luck - if you have any more questions I' happy to help.

Thanks Prufrock, I was hoping you'd be here. You gave me lots of good advice last time.
I'll call the surgery and arrange for bloods on monday.

Hi Francesca

I thought I had pyschosomatic itching too with my 2nd, but blood tests can't lie!!!

I was lucky, in that it came on much much later 2nd time around, but as Prufrock said I felt much more in control the 2nd time round.

Healthy baby is now 8 weeks old!

Good luck!
