Hi all

I know this has been posted several times but I am just very anxious at the moment. I am currently 13weeks and 2 days pregnant. I had my first dose of Pfizer before falling pregnant however I decided to delay my second dose till I complete the first trimester. I have had a chat with my midwife and gp regarding this and they said there are more risks of not having the second jab and that it is completely my decision. My question is I have already delayed second dose this much already and I have read all the research from the experts and it is a no brainier that I should get the second dose so gp suggested I get it at 14 weeks onwards and how Pfizer vaccine supply can fall short bla bla which made me panic a bit.

Just wanted to know if anyone else was in a same position as me and any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I am in the same position as you @simz143 I had my first before falling pregnant. Was actually due my second vaccination when I found out I was pregnant, Ill be 11 weeks tomorrow and still haven’t had my second. I have a mw app this Thursday so will speak to her about it but I was thinking second trimester to have it.

In regards to supplies they aren’t now giving Astra to under 40s so I hope that Pfizer supplies will be enough to fulfil everyone in this age bracket (that’s what I’m hoping anyway). Sorry no real advice but just wanted to say I know exactly how you feel, I’m so nervous to have it but deep down think I should have it x

My first dose I wasn't aware I was pregnant at the time, found out few days later but baby is moving loads and all my scans etc have been fine I'm now 21+3

Yes it's a decision we need to make and it's really personal choice. I just knew a lot of women who didn't have the first dose at all so was wondering what women same as me did

I spoke to my midwife and she said I should have it but it is up to me and pointed me to the research done by the experts for example Rcog guidance and advice.

I think my main fear is getting bad reaction to second dose but was advised I can take paracetamol after jab.

But also with this Indian variant and more variants to come I am sure they say two doses is effective against the Indian variant. So makes sense to get it now as I am in the second trimester.

Hi @simz143, I just had my second dose of pfizer last week at 13+5. I also had the first dose just before I got pregnant (well, technically I guess I was a few days 'pregnant' but it was before ovulation). I delayed it slightly because I wanted to be past 12 weeks, which is recommended by my hospital. Obviously it's too soon for me to know if it's caused any problems but nothing frightening has happened so far.
