Scan dates help!

Hi just wondering if anyone could help with my scan dates.

I had a miscarriage on 29 March and the bleeding stopped on 5th April. Hcg was as low as 4 in the bloods I had done on 01 April.

I have not had a period in between and have fallen pregnant again. I got my first positive test on 26 April. I was told to go from the first day of bleeding for the start of my cycle which would make me exactly 8 weeks today although I expected that to doffer a little.

Anyway I had a scan at the EPU on 15 May which showed a yolk sac but no baby yet. She said from the size of the sac I should be 5w6d which was a week out of my original guess which seemed normal due to the miscarriage.

I had another scan today (24 May, private) and it has shown a baby and heartbeat so it's progressed well in a week. HOWEVER, she first said I was under 5 weeks as the baby was only 3.5mm and I told her it was impossible because I had a positive test 4 weeks ago. She then scanned again and said it was about 4.7mm so I'm about 5w6d.

This date would now mean that I would have ovulated and implanted really quickly if I had my positive test 4 weeks ago. It just doesn't make any sense. I knew that because of the miscarriage it would be hard to date but this just doesn't seem right at all.

Part of me wonders if she was scanning correctly seem as she gave me 2 different measurements. But then I think it sounds about right if it was just a yolk sac last week but a baby and heartbeat now. I'm so confused. Can anyone shed any light of dates straight after miscarriage please? *

Is it possible to conceive and implant and show positive on a test within 2 weeks lol

The only advice I can give based on early scans was I was told the dates they give you can be as much as 5 days out.

The fact she got two different measurements though would worry me. Sounds a daft question but was it a reputable place?

I had early scans for my last pregnancy but at a fertility clinic.

It was at Ultrasound Direct so I think that's meant to be quite a reputable place.

I think I'll book another scan seen as my dating scan is so far away. If it's not developing/stopped developing, I'd rather know earlier than find out at the 12 week scan that it stopped weeks ago
