I am currently 12 weeks pregnant and my first face to face midwife appointment is end of June.I gave blood /urine sample last week and have texted my midwife to ask what the next step is ,when will I get the results but haven't heard anything back.Is this normal?Where can I obtain the results ?
This is my first child so I am a little lost ...

Are these your booking in bloods or the combined test bloods for Down Syndrome..?

If it’s the former, you probably won’t get the results. They are just checking your blood type, whether you are anaemic etc

If it’s for the combined test, they will send you a letter with your results but not usually until after your scan, because the risk is calculated using a combination of blood test results and measurements taken during the scan

Everywhere seems to be different. I didn’t get any results by letter- I was told if there was an issue I would get a call and if not it would be discussed at my next meeting

Wildly varies but trust and hospital. I think for the booking bloods I just got told they were fine and my 12 weeks scan and bloods I had to wait an hour or so and then come back and was given results in person, 2years ago with my first I had to wait for them in the post or id be called in a few days if there was something wrong

They should have told you but I think sometimes they can forget not everyone knows how it works. Like the above posters says it depends on what your trust does. For mine, no news is good news. You'd only get a call or letter if there's an issue. Otherwise, at your next midwife appointment they will tell you the results.
